Pete Hegseth, Trump’s Secretary of Defense, commented on the shortage of Tomahawk missiles in the U.S., claiming that “weapon stockpiles were depleted back under Biden due to shipments to Ukraine.” In reality, the U.S. has never supplied Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine — Hegseth is simply lying. They started a war without having the cards, and now they’re blaming Ukraine.

In 4 years Joe Biden and Democrats took the complete disaster of an economy that Trump left after his first term and transformed it into the “envy of the world.” The United States economy recovered from the pandemic faster than any other country. 16 million jobs were created, including 800,000 new manufacturing jobs. This was done through investment in infrastructure, new technologies and clean energy. Investment in the U.S. was booming, our farmers didn’t need a $14 billion bailout, wages were rising and inflation was falling for two straight years. The minute Trump took office inflation started to rise, soon after 15,000 farms went bankrupt, home foreclosures spiked, and over 20 million Americans could no longer afford health insurance. The impasse on the appropriation for DHS is over ICE funding. And yet, you don’t hear Republicans trying to sell the importance of funding ICE. They talk about TSA, the Coast Guard, and every other agency, but never mention the one that is the source of the problem. Wonder why?

TSA is largely funded by a tax on every ticket. It adds $5.60 to every one-way ticket & $11.20 to roundtrips. Everyone in line right now is already paying the TSA fee, even for free reward travel. The government has previously diverted that money to the Treasury. Pay the agents.
