📣 NEW! I’ve just released the BIGGEST and perhaps most creative project I’ve ever worked on! “Searching for Birds” searchingforbirds.visualcinnamon.com 🐤 A #dataviz article & exploration that dives into the data that connects humans with birds, by looking at how we search for birds.

Maca Iglesias 🇺🇸Thank You, President Biden🇺🇸
No wonder the toddler is unhinged once again. The Obamas are competent, classy, loving, Harvard and Princeton graduates, loved by many, not on the Epstein files, got the Nobel Peace Prize, and gave us a steady economy to boot! Repost this if you agree they are AMAZING!

This is such a wholesome story & deserves more attention. Through the Cricket Grannies, community initiatives like the spread of communicable diseases, healthy living, GBV, and so on, can be highlighted even more.

In eastern Uganda’s Jinja district, groups of older women have embraced cricket as a way to stay active and socially connected. Referred to locally as “cricket grannies”, they take part in informal games and training that combine light exercise with elements of the sport 📸 Luis Tato

Lewis Hamilton features in a video compilation of words written by dead poets from Sudan and Palestine. Mustafa The Poet: “This is a cento we made for them, for what they left behind. A cento is a poem composed entirely of verses taken from other poems, it was arranged by myself and Safia Elhillo – recited by these beautiful artists.”

Whoever described Uganda as the Pearl of Africa was right. The more you travel, the more you appreciate Uganda’s natural and social endowment. With proper governance, Uganda would be paradise. No one would wish to leave. You see, even in its misgoverned state, it is hard to leave. Not just because it’s home, but there are things about it that may still outweigh the pains.

UWA is reinforcing proper waste management in protected areas, guided by Uganda’s 2020 Waste Management Regulations. Working with concessionaires through EIAs, the Authority aims to improve waste handling in parks and support sustainable tourism. Recent reminders on responsible waste disposal were shared from Lake Mburo National Park’s Nshara and Kanyinashara gates. #WasteManagement #ConservingForGenerations

Our government is surrendering over 150 acres of Kitubulu Forest to Tian Tang for a shopping mall and other developments. I recently visited the area, and the first post you see at the forest entrance carries a strong warning ‼️ A snake with a message that reads: “I might end up in your home if you destroy my habitat.” That message speaks louder than any words. Nature is speaking to us , reminding us that every tree cut, every forest cleared, draws the crisis closer to our own doors. When we trade green spaces for concrete, we trade life for comfort, and the cost will be too high to pay. Investors and our government see land, not life. They see profit, not people and nature. But for those who live here, this forest is more than just land , it’s protection, it’s balance, it’s home. #SaveKitubuluForestNow

What More Could a Daughter Ask For? On my mind this morning… Gratitude for parents who support my hustle. They show up each time I call, and even when they are not right beside me, I know they’re praying for me, by name, every single day. They may sometimes still ask, “Jackie, what exactly do you do again?” They still stumble over the word philanthropy, pronouncing it in the most hilarious ways. But regardless, they show up. Steadily. Faithfully. Lovingly. Surely, what more could a daughter ask for? #GratefulHeart #ParentsAreHome
