Whoever described Uganda as the Pearl of Africa was right. The more you travel, the more you appreciate Uganda’s natural and social endowment. With proper governance, Uganda would be paradise. UWA is reinforcing proper waste management in protected areas, guided by Uganda’s 2020 Waste Management Regulations. Working with concessionaires through EIAs, the Authority aims to improve waste handling in parks and support sustainable tourism. Our government is surrendering over 150 acres of Kitubulu Forest to Tian Tang for a shopping mall and other developments. I recently visited the area, and the first post you see at the forest entrance carries a strong warning ‼️ A snake with a message that reads: “I might end up in your home if you destroy my habitat.” That message speaks louder than any words. Nature is speaking to us , reminding us that every tree cut, every forest cleared, draws the crisis closer to our own doors. When we trade green spaces for concrete, we trade life for comfort, and the cost will be too high to pay. Investors and our government see land, not life. What More Could a Daughter Ask For? On my mind this morning… Gratitude for parents who support my hustle. They show up each time I call, and even when they are not right beside me, I know they’re praying for me, by name, every single day. They may sometimes still ask, “Jackie, what exactly do you do again?” They still stumble over the word philanthropy, pronouncing it in the most hilarious ways. But regardless, they show up. Steadily.
