Tenzin didn't know the air nomads. He didn't suffer their loss, his greatest connection to them is a longing for them bestowed by his father.
That said, Aang woulda probably genuinely tweaked out if it was him instead of Tenzin lmfao

Thats like saying dont let someone use older gym equipment because they are gonna damage it after a bad set

@EmmyWRLD9 @son_of_uki @geosustento I said metalbending was environment dependent. I a acknowledged its useful but they never said where the hell the fight takes place. Theres a huge difference between fighting in the a open grass field and the pro bending arena thats full of metal

aang was a master airbender at 12, a better waterbender than katara at first, learned seismic sense, and learned fire from dragons. korra rarely shows unique, master-level combat techniques exclusive to elite masters.
asking this is undermining aang; his bending feats are far more impressive.

Prime example, Roku needed Sozin's help to stop a volcano, and died from poison gas. Aang stopped a volcano with mostly airrbending. Mind you, they were trained in the same air temple
