@g_rimez @WadimRosenstein @GMHikaru @FabianoCaruana @WesleySo_ @LevAronian Hikaru and Fabi were born American, the others immigrated. The world is full of immigrants, emigrants, refugees, etc. Try not to let it hurt your feelings.

@Money_sh_ @WadimRosenstein @GMHikaru @FabianoCaruana @WesleySo_ @LevAronian It's rapid and blitz. Hans is like 9th and 5th American on those lists.
English

@WadimRosenstein @GMHikaru @FabianoCaruana @WesleySo_ @LevAronian You can’t call it the strongest team when the 4th highest-ranked player is deliberately left out.
English

@EmilSutovsky @ChessWatchCom Hahaha, now do averages per hour broadcasted. Comparing a 2 hour blitz tournament to a 2 week classical tournament by hours watched is hilarious!
English

Picture that says it all.
@ChessWatchCom provides the data for the most watched event in 2026 so far.
FIDE Candidates is head and shoulders ahead everything else, and it will keep this lead till the FIDE World Championship Match - where I personally expect the highest ever number of spectators in the chess history.

English

@JoshNoLook @EmilSutovsky @ChessWatchCom Not all snapshots are the same. The above chart compares over 80 hours of coverage vs maybe 7 or 8 for SCC

English

@EmilSutovsky @ChessWatchCom Crazy that it even tops the Speed Chess Championship in peak viewer metrics, especially since those matches can come down to a single bullet game.
You'd really expect SCC to own that category.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested the wife of a U.S. Army staff sergeant at the military base where he is stationed just days after the couple married, an attorney representing the family told ABC News. abcnews.visitlink.me/AjQ-TH

@FruitYaps @limitGlory @DailyLoud And if she stands up to go to the loo, puts her jacket on (with the phone in it) and walks away? What should he think then?
English

@limitGlory @DailyLoud If she pulls out a phone in the middle of a game it would be pretty obvious
English

@JoshNoLook He qualified by having the 2nd highest rating for the last 2 years. No one playing wouldn't say it's a shame that Keymer and or Arjun are playing as they're so strong.
English

@Evan_EveryDay @JoshNoLook @durarbayli So true! Also, why gatekeep frivolous fun party chess? Attracting all kinds of people to chess benefits chess.
English

@JoshNoLook @durarbayli It's a win win scenario numb nuts. Content creators are invited to get content and in return Freestyle gets promotion. She wasn't a broadcast commentator.
English

Didn't get enough impressions on January 27? Post it again, slightly modified. Well done on getting over a million impressions at the expense of portraying the chess world as a toxic environment for women.
The man who wrote this email is clearly not from the chess world. He doesn't understand the difference between a FIDE-rated event and a casual one. FIDE rules don't apply to casual ones. Using an email like this to portray chess as a toxic place for women is misleading.
I'm not going to speak on behalf of women and how they feel in the chess world. But this post's intention is not to bring awareness. It is view farming, and she has done a great job.
Julesgambit@julesgambit
Being a woman in chess means getting these random emails at 7 in the morning
English

@JoshNoLook @VonAllenSports @durarbayli Danya quit his job at Freestyle. Jules was invited as a content creator. Freestyle invites a bunch them to make content that publicizes their event for free so they don't have to make a ton of content on their own. They don't pay the content creators. Jules did not replace Danya.
English

I'm inclined to believe the "excessively short dresses" complaint at a professional event. Just look at this post.
Meanwhile, Naroditsky was stuck in Charlotte while Dina got flown to Las Vegas, after being fired for actually wanting to make real chess content.
It's an absolute disgrace.

@JoshNoLook They're producing journalistic documentaries and it's unethical to pay participants. They do have to sign NDAs so Magnus may have been constrained from what he says on Joe Rogan, another unpaid gig.
English

I'm no expert on documentaries, or on whether people get paid directly by Netflix.
But on JRE, Rogan asked Magnus about it, and Magnus said he couldn't say much because of the documentary.
He had every chance to tell his side in full to a massive audience instead of just hinting at things.
So it seems pretty obvious he's getting paid somehow for the documentary, even if not by Netflix directly.
English

@FBXGargoyle @JoshNoLook Fabi's claim that he used to fail to win half his round 1 games in TT has been fact checked and it's hilariously wrong. He's played round one 235 times and won 208, drawn 17 and lost 10. He lost 4.2%
English

@JoshNoLook Seems like it would be very easy to research Fabi's first round results versus 2000's to determine if he's grossly exaggerating or not here. Also another thing to consider: You're wasting your time if you think you'll EVER get to Hikaru the way you did Daniel.
English

@JoshNoLook @kingcarab56 His last "Twitch" streams were multistreams sponsored by Google where he streamed on Kick, Youtube, X and Twitch. Those three days were only for Google and they weren't that popular. Good try though.
English

@kingcarab56 Seems so. His last three Twitch streams are pulling under a third of his Kick viewers, around ~1,000 average on Twitch. He used to have like 10k.
And how many of those Twitch "viewers" are bots?

English

@ChessProblem I always thought men were the reason there are fewer women in chess.
English

@tetsmtlmen @JoshNoLook Nepo told Danya to his face that he thought he was cheating.
English

@JoshNoLook Nepo is also a crybabe that insult a lot of players but in real life is nothing but a fat soyboy
English

Ever since the Hans Niemann saga, Nakamura hasn't had the courage to show up at OTB events where Hans is playing. After all the things he said online.
He also talked tough online toward Alireza, but the tone was very different when they were in the same room at the SCC.
Now he's doing the internet tough guy routine again with Anish, right as the Candidates is coming up. Interesting timing.
This online tough guy persona has been around since the ICC days, too. Some people never learn.
English

@lynn41478 @JoshNoLook Also SCC Finals was in person if not otb
English

@JoshNoLook Hans and Hikaru played together OTB in Vegas last year.

@AndyHowie13 @Ognifedefingo Dude, I don't care if you're an alt of the FIDE president or the head of fair play. You're missing the point.
If you're claiming "complete confidence" in the people involved, you're flat-out wrong. You can't possibly know.
That's the problem.
English

Fabiano explains there was a case where he has "absolute certainty" someone cheated in an "important event." A "very high-profile" case.
This cheater was exonerated based on Kenneth Regan's analysis.
That player got away with it in an "open and shut case."
Unfortunately, FIDE relies on Regan...
Hopefully the Candidates has very strong physical anti-cheating measures, because this kind of analysis isn't going to cut it.
English

@JoshNoLook @AndyHowie13 @Ognifedefingo @AndyHowie13 is an International Arbiter and is likely far more aware of fairplay plans for Candidates than you'll ever be, Kramnik. Quite sure the plans and procedures won't be published publicly, for obvious reasons but as long as you're being an idiot, don't let me stop you.
English

@AndyHowie13 @Ognifedefingo Confident there are no concerns? You can't possibly know that, and neither can FIDE.
That's the point.
