What the Artemis II astronauts did over the last 10 days was a testament to their bravery. And the fact that they traveled farther from Earth than anyone ever has, re-entered our atmosphere at more than 24,000 mph, and splashed down safely was a testament to human ingenuity. Thanks to everyone at @NASA for making this mission possible, and for taking us along for the ride.

Beautiful words, dare I say the best words to come from an American politician about the Irish in my lifetime.
“Am agus foighne a thógann seilide go Corcaigh!”

Leavitt on what Trump means by demanding Iran's unconditional surrender: "When he as commander in chief determines that Iran no longer poses a threat to the US and the goals of Operation Epic Fury have been fully realized, then Iran will essentially be in a place of unconditional surrender whether they say it themselves or not"

The State of the Union, in which Iran was barely mentioned, served nevertheless as this war’s perfect predictor.
He offered himself as this country’s king and not a constitutional one. He passed out a monarch’s gifts – Medals of Honor, Medals of Freedom, and other awards of the state as if they came from his honors list.
He did so with the same ease he had shown just months ago, issuing pardons to those who desecrated the very Capitol in which he now stood.
Trump spoke little, if at all, of the constitutional connection between the legislative branch and himself. Instead, he treated Republican senators and members of Congress as a studio audience, Democratic legislators simply as targets for personal abuse.
The only recognition of the Congress as a coequal constitutional body was Trump’s rebuke of the Supreme Court for its “unfortunate” decision, reminding us of Congress’s right to control US tax, tariff, and trade policy.
Everything he did Tuesday night ceremonially was a preview of what he did on Saturday. He took our country to war as if he were doing it as a king.

.@JamesTalarico: The reason poverty exists in the wealthiest country on Earth is not because we can't feed the poor. It's because we can't satisfy the rich.
Elon Musk is about to become the first trillionaire. He's about to make more money than every elementary school teacher in America combined. Do we really believe one man is worth more than every elementary school teacher?
Why do we have a trillionaire when there are kids without enough to eat, cancer patients going bankrupt, and veterans sleeping on the street?
I'm all for success, but this is not success. This is hoarding. What leads a person to accumulate more money than they could possibly spend in 100 lifetimes when there are people starving in this one?
What we can do is tax trillionaires out of existence and use that money to guarantee food, healthcare, and housing for every single American.

They were standing by the shoreline during a property tour, and the agent kept calling it a “lake.” She folded her arms and shook her head. “It’s not a lake,” she insisted. “It’s just a smaller body of water.” No matter how many times someone tried to label it, she refused to call it anything else.
Sometimes it’s about technical definitions. Sometimes it’s about perception. And sometimes, it’s just about not wanting to give something more weight or value than it deserves. Why do some people avoid certain words, even when everyone else agrees on the obvious?

.@JamesTalarico: I am here in one of the reddest parts of Texas because I am tired of being divided into teams—red versus blue, rural versus urban.
The truth is, we're all on the same team. Do you struggle to afford the high price of everything? Do you carry the weight of student debt and medical debt? So do I.
Those billionaire-run platforms and predatory algorithms want to divide this team.
The most radical thing you can do in an era of division is bring people together. We have so much more in common than they want us to realize.

In a culture addicted to outrage, people are desperate to tear each other apart. Bad Bunny had the biggest stage in the world and could’ve made it political.
He didn’t. He chose unity & love.
Most of the criticism I’ve seen isn’t even about the music — it’s about his ethnicity. That’s weak.
Music and sports are supposed to bring us together.
You can celebrate different backgrounds and still love this country. That’s exactly what this Super Bowl performance did ❤️🇺🇸
