They're the ones who let you know that help is on the way. They have helped save lives, bring new lives into the world, and they have stayed with you in your toughest moments. This #DispatcherAppreciationWeek, thank you to the women + men who are our "first" first responders.

COLD CASE UPDATE: After attacking a woman 16 years ago in a MV hotel room, the man responsible has pleaded guilty. Our work is never done. But this development, thanks to the work of MVPD investigators + @SantaClaraDA, helps close a difficult chapter. mv-voice.com/news/2020/08/0…

The “thin blue line” is an honorable symbol for a noble profession. Those that suggest otherwise are promoting a negativity bias with an unfair dislike and phobia towards a diverse team of men and women who have chosen a profession to serve and protect. #truenarrativeofpolicing
Chief Eddie Garcia (Ret.)@sjpdchief

The “Thin Blue Line” is often misunderstood.I once read, and believe, that the thin blue line demonstrates support for each other in a tough job. It's not an excuse to violate the high ethical standards, but an encouragement to stand on that line together in the service of others.
