Also, expect a DT and/or a DE to get drafted early'ish to develop into an eventual starter once we cant afford Rankins-type vets. Same at TE and guard. Based on current contracts, I'm not expecting a tackle prospect this year in the draft unless he has guard flexibility too

I can see Al-Shaair getting a 2-year extension this off-season, with a decent signing bonus and the first year fully guaranteed. Easy to move off the 2nd year if need be. I see a LB picked on day 2, and if he is promising, Henry T won't get re-signed for cap control purposes

Spot on assessment. Caserio's ability to plug holes in FA with average or better vets will dry up once the talent on rookie contracts hit their 2nd deals. Those guys will be the pricey vets, and '24, '25, '26, etc. rookies will need to fill key roles at their relatively low cost

I see so many posts and get so many questions about the Texans trading up but remember this. Will Anderson, CJ Stroud, Kamari Lassiter are all getting big extensions to go with a big deal for Stingley and a potential increase for Nico. I didn't even mention Bullock who should get another deal as well. They need their picks to help balance out the salary cap vs. the rising costs for 2nd contracts.

@OurSf49ers @thegritcode Ummm, an injury prone WR whose separation skills are diminishing due to age and injury on the most injury prone team in the league? As a Niners (and Texans fan), I say this is a bad bet. With that said, he’s a deal at $6mm and can have some big games in Kyle’s offense

@ChilcuttsDeep Patterson's fit, build & price most likely makes him the odd man out. Andrews on super cheap deal & Brown most likely has a small guarantee whereas Patterson frees almost $3.7 mil with cut/trade per OTC.

Elgton Jenkins would be the ideal option. He can start at LG (where he's best) or C & be upgrade to Andrews. Gives OT depth if needed but not ideal Alijah Vera-Tucker has the talent but injuries are concern. But would draft rookie on Day 2 to backup both for injury & performance
