Durham Police Issue Warning After High-Risk Offender Released in Oshawa
The Durham Regional Police Service is warning residents that a high-risk offender has been released into the community under a temporary absence permit.
Darren Scott Ray, 65, is currently serving a life sentence for first-degree murder and has been granted an Unescorted Temporary Absence (UTA). He is residing in Oshawa as part of the release conditions.
Police say Ray has a history of serious criminal convictions, including first-degree murder, and poses a significant risk to the community. The public notification is intended to enhance community safety and awareness.
Ray is described as an Indigenous male, 5-foot-9, approximately 199 pounds, with an average build. He is bald and wears glasses.
Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to police.

This was Joly yesterday in Toronto. She says Canada is doubling down on EV production. Once again not listening to what consumers want, but will use regulations to force a market to succeed.
