@kateferguson4 Haha yes!!! We used to make minor golden wonders and turn them into key rings and fridge magnets! Also turning paper into old scrolls on the stove and flower press 🌺 Oh how much I loved that!!

Anyone else remember putting crisp packets in the oven so they would shrink, and then turning them into badges? I am the only one in my office who spent their childhood doing this.

@KirstieMAllsopp I like the phrase, I find it comforting to imply the spirit has moved on to somewhere else. I think it’s clear enough it means death but without sounding so definitively final?

When did we move from saying “sad to hear of the death of….” to “sad to hear of the passing of”? Is there any way to stop this? We are already bad enough at discussing death in the U.K.

Here’s Makerfield MP Andy Burnham leaving by a side entrance moments after his speech today. I think it is appalling that he would not take questions from us journalists. He will be made Prime Minister of our country three weeks today. More coverage and analysis at @GBNEWS.

Though I obviously fundamentally disagree with much of what the Prime Minister’s Government has done, I wish him and his family well during what will have been a testing time Labour MPs should remember the tale of poor Jim: hold on to nurse, for fear of something much worse

@benjaminbutter @StarbucksUK I worked in Starbucks for few years while at uni many moons ago. In those days we weren’t able to give customers a cup of just hot water (e.g to warm a baby’s bottle). Tea was fine though…

“Hello, could you cut my sandwich, please?” “No, sir,” “Why ever not?” “We are not allowed by @StarbucksUK to use knives.” A country in which cafe staff are not allowed to cut a cheese sandwich. This infantilising of adults annoys everyone but corporate risk managers.

@IslingtonBC @Arsenal @premierleague What are the parking suspensions for residents with permits? You have sent a letter saying you will send more information, but do I need to move my car from my paid spot on Morton Road?

@DrStephenDixon @instagram I’ve been locked out of my @newforestponypics hobby account since August. I can’t get through the selfie video check as all my pictures are of ponies 😕. Meta verified hasn’t got me anywhere despite knowing my password! Good luck!

Islington Labour launched its manifesto this morning - with a punchy speech by @EmilyThornberry. Top priorities: affordable housing, tackling antisocial behaviour, helping those struggling with the cost of living crisis. Good to be on board.

Japanese football fans have been praised online after staying behind to clean up Wembley Stadium following their team’s 1–0 victory over England. After the historic win, Japanese supporters remained in the stands to tidy the stadium before leaving.

Good deeds Today I was in M&S for some bits and stood in a long line to pay. When my things were being scanned through, the cashier told me their contactless payments weren’t processing. I only had my payment app on my phone, no physical card with me. The cashier said she would try it, but if it didn’t work I’d need to come back later. But I was not in my home town. And it didn’t work. So Phil, the complete stranger in the queue behind me paid the £28 for my shopping. He wouldn’t give me his phone number so I could contact him to pay him back. He said someone had done for him years ago, and this was clearly his moment to pass it on. How nice is Stranger Phil? ☺️

Listening to Ed Davey on @IainDale’s show on @LBC. His opening remark was that he was catching up on the day’s news because he’s been at exhibition his wife bought him tickets for 🤦🏼‍♀️
