Yesterday in the Legislature I questioned the minister about the Musqueam agreement and the troubling timeline around who in government actually knew about it. A deal, by-the-way involving territory across Metro Vancouver where hundreds of thousands of families own homes and millions of people live. The federal government says British Columbia was briefed weeks in advance. Yet the minister told the House he only heard about the agreement later and had not seen the details. At the same time, Premier David Eby attended the signing ceremony days before cabinet met. Those facts raise serious questions. Either the provincial government knew about this agreement and the public was told something different, or the premier attended a major land rights announcement and never informed his own cabinet afterward. Neither explanation reflects a government that has control of a file this important. British Columbians deserve transparency when decisions involving rights, title, and land are being discussed. Instead, we are getting confusion, contradictions, and a government that still cannot explain who knew what and when #cdnpoli #bcpoli
