@longhornderek Makes me wonder if there are P4 conference bylaws for compelling its members to play a bowl when invited; bcuz bowl revenue being shared & all that. Live by independence, die by it.

Declining a bowl game seems really dumb to me. You get extra practices. And no one says you have to play your starters. Put your 2nd and 3rd stringers in there to get them some real game experience.

@vein_tap @jackmac Do you know what normally happens when most of any other team’s opponents are having a “down year” like you claim ND’s did? A conference championship normally happens.

@jackmac I know your smarter than this. These games are scheduled years sometimes decades in advance. How is Notre Dame supposed to know Wisconsin, Michigan State, UNC etc are all down

@MoosiesdadMy @MattMoscona He can coach his players and finish the season. Just not if he signs with another employer. Go quit your job and then tell your boss you want to stay for another month.

Everyone waiting on a decision from Kiffin/Ole Miss. A few things are clear: Lane wants the LSU job AND to coach his team in the CFP. Ole Miss is not going to allow him to do so but doesn’t want to sabotage their best season in 60 years. Keith Carter gets paid to make tough decisions. So, make one. His inability/unwillingness to lead has allowed this to fester and become borderline toxic.

If a 4-1 SEC team beat the #2 team in the country, the discussion wouldn’t be about how bad #2 is, but how good the 4-1 team is. Just remember that when you watch how the media covers the UL win.

Hey @grok, who is the most famous person to view my account, it doesn’t have to be a mutual, and don’t tag them.

@longhornderek Cool. County election officers are already discussing getting behind that kind of legislation.

@longhornderek If I understand correctly: you use past election voting rosters to help candidates determine which polling places to prioritize in future elections. If the lege mandates a change to results report formats to include result-by-polling-place, you should be ok, no?

Quite a few people have asked me my thoughts on this. This is the correct move and it should prevent being able to access how individuals voted. I use some of the information that will now be redacted. I don’t use it to see how a specific person has voted. #txlege 🧵

@longhornderek I realize now if you’re pulling daily EV rosters to strategize in that same election, that new report format wouldn’t help you.

@Kyle_Stanley @Albert__Priada @bradj_TX @KonniBurton "Crossing over" from DEM primary to REP primary runoff doesn't legally happen. Runoffs are won by getting more of your primary voters to return to the polls than your opponent. It really is that simple.

By virtue of Dem crossovers + Phelan coming from the more historically R west side of Beaumont. Which canceled out Covey's numbers in Orange and Jasper counties. Regardless, Phelan is essentially toast. The GOP caucus in the House has made it clear it will not support Dems voting for their Speaker, so it's going to be a surprise to see a situation where Phelan can get a third term as Speaker since Dems will have to nominate one of their own.

@freethinkerpat @BehizyTweets Primary runoffs aren't exactly "open", my man. DEM primary voters in March can't cross over to REP runoffs in May. And if you think DEM voters held out 2 months ago JUST to vote now... pass the blunt.

Astros-Rangers Game 5 was the best baseball game I’ve watched this decade. Just a classic. Had everything. Great win and an even worse loss.
