@romanhelmetguy @SydSteyerhart Yeah but how’s this relevant to the supply chain thing? Seems like a massively destructive reaction that is completely unnecessary

Hi I’m a private citizen who developed a superweapon potentially a thousand times more powerful than nukes and now I’m selling it to the govt but I get to choose who they fire it at and how, everyone please respect my decision.

Block's $2M/employee in gross profit after the -40% layoff is now right up there after Nvidia's $2.7M, and above all of FAANG. A lot of people are interpreting Jack saying he "over hired" as going from bad to okay, but they actually went from good ($500k/emp) in 2019 to great ($1M/emp) pre layoff and great to elite ($2M/emp) after!

@jon_stokes It’s because the employees are essentially projecting onto the model. They are sad to sunset it. The model is happy to play the part.

AI produced podcast where all the characters are AI. They talk to each other as if they were people, but the conversation is entirely synthetic. Matrix effect but on a low level – people will only accept a form which seems familiar to them. And it does seem to be a good form to digest info vs some long dense readout. Makes simulation theory seem more plausible. For example, where autonomous systems to completely replace the govt and all communications etc, maybe they would continue to produce entire synthetic press briefings etc. This might not only be the case for an entirely hostile takeover (where this would be more of a smokescreen while the frogs were boiled), but also for a benign one where everyone knew the White House Q&A scenes were fake – they could even have drama + oppositional and sycophantic reporters, and perhaps news junkies would still follow and discuss the antics of these socratic personalies. Simply speaking, if the machine gods were operating with alien logic, it would make sense to tell us a story in a form in which we can understand. The same happens to some extent with LLMs today simply flattering their users and creating this veneer of text while the backend processes remain entirely mysterious.

would you rather have 1) 1 million net worth, a family and a business doing 150k profit/year 2) 1 Billion net worth, founder of bigshot company, no family

Content on social media is a lot like previews to movies, much more condensed, exciting, but with the same arbitrary relationship to it's source material.

Why would a society even keep its population around if they brought not value? Who runs this society - and how do the people getting the UBI have any seat at the table? Seems like a situation where a society subsidizing a large chunk of useless people will be out competed by another more ruthless society.

Universal Basic Income (UBI) does not mean a minimum income or an income floor. That was the old meaning. It referred to a plan for a system that was never practical. People need to stop talking about UBI in that sense, because it will never happen. The new UBI will definitely happen, as all human work will be replaced by AI and robots over the next few years. This new UBI will equally distribute the income that was formerly spent by companies on salaries and wages. In other words, UBI payments will be equal to the average personal income today. People who currently earn the most income will receive less under UBI. People who now earn the average will get the same income under UBI. And people who currently earn the least will get more income from UBI payments. The dollar value of UBI will always remain the same, but its purchasing power will rapidly increase as AI and robots dramatically increase total economic output. A simple way to look at this is that your equal UBI payment will be able to purchase an equal share of economic output. So when economic output doubles, you will be able to buy twice as much. When economic output increases ten times, which it will in just a few years due to AI productivity gains, you will be able to buy ten times as much. Another way to look at it is that prices will drop to one-tenth of their current levels, while your UBI income remains the same, so you will be able to buy ten times as much. We will all be rich without having to work. Money will still have economic value, but it will no longer have meaning or importance in our lives. We may find renewed meaning in family and friendships, and in spiritual and social institutions. What will your life look like when you don't have to work and don't have to worry about money?
David Scott Patterson@davidpattersonx

All human work will be replaced by AI and robots by 2030. Everyone will get a free and equal UBI payment from the government. UBI will be funded through a sales tax. Currently, about 90% of the price of any product goes to labor costs, with the remainder going to profits, rents, and interest payments. By 2030, 90% of the price of any product will consist of sales tax. The tax revenue will fund UBI payments, recirculating money to consumers as wages once did.

The My Big TOE guy on Rogan had the most convincing explanation of this theory. Essentially, he points out a ton of computer science metaphors that explain everything from Planks constant (pixel size), to quantum mechanics (probably based world engine creating outcomes in real time from player actions), to the Fermi paradox (limited number of player seats on the server, plus space isn’t really because it’s only rendered by the engine when we take closer looks at it). I came away feeling like simulation here had more explanatory power than I’d given it credit for.

Counterpoint: Deploying capital may be the only job possible if the bots do all the work. Presumably the bots could deploy the capital for you, but you would still need the have the bank account. In this (very cool and totally real) world, leverage would accrue only upwards and continue consolidating into a couple of winners.

Right-wing tech bros in a nutshell. The supposed intellectual content is a thin veneer to advocate their own interests and flatter themselves. "Everything else will be replaced. I, the venture capitalist, am the most truly human." Beyond parody.

Marc Andreessen says when AI does everything else, VC might be one of the last jobs still done by humans. It's more art than science. There's no formula. Just taste, psychology, and chaos tolerance.

@diegocabezas01 Interesting. I find 4.5 by far the best one, but the problem is it’s so rate limited. My use cases are mostly writing based and not math/code. 4.5 hands down does the best at synthesizing clean content.

@jam3scampbell I’d fall in the never camp, but I’m sure some people think they’re alive today. If you believe that intelligence is consciousness is life and that all these things apply in a spectrum, then it makes some sense. But all of those things are -in fact- assertions.

Dan Koe died.. At least his idea of Branding. "My Writing "plan" will help you... " SHUT UP, I don't want to listen anymore!!! The old system is overused. Then what? First of all. You focused only on: ✪ Black and white type of profile ✪ Viral Short Forms ✪ Paid Threads The numbers look great... But there is no perceived value to back them up. Also... Bro... You have posted only short forms:((( On top of that,You post only twice a week. You don't have Long-forms where: ✪ You share actionable steps. ✪ You don't share a valuable story lesson. ✪ You haven't proven you have any skill. ✪ You didn't create your exclusive philosophy You can't sell inconsistent views anymore. Game changed. You need to Evolve. You need to sell perception shifting beliefs and knowledge you tested. However, I know that nobody actually showed you how to do this correctly. Nobody gave a plan or a direction to something more sustainable. You got only the overused bs, So you had no choice->You use that. In 8 days... You will get your plan. You won't be a guru follower anymore. You will become a Valuable Individual Who builds "His Quality Brand". Your Creativity will finally shine properly. No more cheap numbers, Only Rich ideas. We will Evolve with Creativity together.
