Putting aside how Lucho has managed to be in Liverpool for three years and not speak a word of English, I absolutely love this. Such talent to be able to interview in this way with such poise. Puts my “bar Spanish” to shame!
HLTCO@HLTCO

What an impressive piece of interviewing this is from @alexaljoe. To have the poise to speak in two languages simultaneously, remembering the answers and translating for the audience at home, all when live on camera is remarkable.

@BritishGas is it normal that an engineer just doesn’t turn up and you tell me I didn’t book one despite having an email confirming?

@LeeAndersonMP_ Choosing to visit somewhere on holiday really isn’t the same as being forcefully removed there to live against your will. But then I suspect you know that already…

Is Rwanda a safe country? Well according to a Labour Party candidate who is sending British kids there on holiday it is. For just £2,000 children can go to Rwanda for a 'summer of action'. If Rwanda is safe enough to send British kids there on holiday then surely it's safe enough to host illegal migrants. I await the 'whataboutery' on this one 🤔 dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…

@SimonCalder Africa isn’t all bad. The Gautrain in Joburg is fabulous. Shanghai is spectacular, and almost worth the flight alone to experience 430 kph on a maglev. Birmingham just works.

Airport transport links: Best and Worst. Best: Amsterdam, Paris CDG, Frankfurt, Gatwick, Copenhagen. Worst: Bristol, Dublin Budapest, Prague, Melbourne, almost anywhere in Africa/the Americas (though I once caught a steam train to Asuncion airport). Yours? independent.co.uk/travel/news-an…

@SimonCalder I recall asking BMI at Brussels once if I could get on a seat on the earlier flight. They wanted to charge me £150 despite the flight I was booked being 2 hrs late, and the earlier flight also being two hours late so departing at the time I was due to go! 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Ever arrive at an airport unfashionably early and ask the airline if a seat might be available on an earlier flight than the one you booked? In my experience, British Airways is a flat "no"; easyJet charges c£50 for the privilege; but Airline Z said "yes" independent.co.uk/travel/news-an…

Introducing our first ever QantasLink @Airbus A220, fresh out of the paint shop 🎨 The aircraft is set to arrive in Australia before the end of the year and is the first of 29 A220s coming to the Qantas Group as part of its domestic fleet renewal program. The next-generation A220s have double the range of the Boeing 717s they’re gradually replacing, use less fuel, and are capable of flying direct between any two cities or towns in Australia. The first A220 features a striking livery design and is the sixth aircraft to join Qantas’ Flying Art Series, which has showcased Aboriginal art since 1994’s Wunala Dreaming in partnership with @balarinjidesign. Around 100 painters worked on the livery for two weeks, which features 20,000 dots and is based on artwork by senior Pitjantjatjara artist Maringka Baker. Telling the Dreaming story of two sisters who travel across remote Australia together, covering vast distances to find their way home, the aircraft is named after the artwork “Minyma Kutjara Tjukurpa - The Two Sisters Creation Story".

What worries me about Manchester, is what's happened to the relationships with airlines? United went from growth and upgrades, to now won't touch with a bargepole. 3 airlines were due to launch in 2020 (Delta, WestJet and Juneyao) but now nowhere to be seen. What happened?
SPD travels 🚄✈️🌉@SPD_travels

Edinburgh Airport is absolutely romping home on TATL routes, with 2 more announced today. Meanwhile Manchester is a bore unless you like Turkyie. It just has a lot of slot requests that, if you clap 3 times at midnight while singing wonderwall, they might come true...

Airline extras. The government wants to tackle "consumer harm" of so-called "drip pricing" where the fare you are originally quoted and the eventual cost are a long way apart. But the carriers say charges are clear, and passengers can choose what they need independent.co.uk/travel/news-an…

@ChrisPouney Having read up on things since posting I agree fully with you Chris. However have also since discovered (thanks to travel industry friends) that there is a system coming (ETA) for people coming to the U.K.
