This is what the metro in south wales should have had as an intrinsic element. Every station should have been / should be a micro development zone.
Wales should be doing this as joined up thinking. It’s far easier here than Westminster, yet we still missed this open goal

This is our local tube station as is and as reimagined with homes on top. Which do you prefer? Beautiful buildings do not just create homes. They improve places. It is beyond insane that there is literally a bungalow a few hundred yards from both the Palace of Westminster and Waterloo Train Station. In a world where Create Streets were setting planning policy beautiful, popular intensification of this types of site would be embedded by right following provably popular pattern books so there was no planning risk or equity capital requirement at all, only the need to raise debt for the construction. Councils talk on cutting 6th forms and creating tertiary colleges. I wonder if the pupils are ever thought about. My eldest as part of her Welsh Bacc takes some of the yr7 lads for reading lessons. Good for them, but better for her. Mentoring such a +ve life experience.

@CrisCardotyn @philsteele1 Mrs Hadley taught me English Literature O level and was my sister’s reg teacher at CN. My aunt Jo Gazzi taught RE at Lady Mary so knew Mrs Hadley both as a parent and work colleague. Admired her enthusiasm but 40 years later Shakespeare is still unfathomable to me though!

Stu (Every Last Station) loves a bus ride and so is going from Land's End to John O'Groats by just using service buses. No trains. No coaches. Just buses.
I provided support at the start, but it's from Day 5 that I really start to properly tag along.

@ceritheviking @says586 As a kid in the 1970s my recollection of Hills Terrace would have been as a surface car park behind Oxford House on The Hayes which was I think accessed off Bridge Street. Site must have been cleared with one eye on redevelopment and used as car park temporarily.
