A big part of the Mets struggles has been stalled development of their young players. Alvarez, Vientos, Baty, Benge, and Mauricio have all disappointed. Until the Mets player development improves they will not be a consistent winner.

Hypothetical trade scenario: Yankees get: Juan Soto Mets get: Carlos Rodon, Gerritt Cole, Giancarlo Stanton, and Paul Goldschmidt This gives the Mets two good veteran SP’s, a DH who can perform well in the playoffs, and a real first baseman.

He will point at Wayve, Nuro, Zoox, Pony, etc. All of these guys will achieve unsupervised, but the scale and the timeline will be quite different to Tesla's. So he is right, but a comment like that deserves the nuance. For example, I fully expect all of those companies I mentioned to achieve unsupervised but geofenced to specific geographies, and with varying numbers of vehicles. Gary will point at that as proof he was right. But to me, I don't care who is picking up Tesla's crumbs.

I’ve been saying this for months. That doesn’t make me bullish on $TSLA since others will achieve unsupervised autonomy as well. Autonomy will become table stakes for remaining in the automotive business.

Must be a quiet day for NY sports if beat writers are reporting concern from Mets regarding Soto on May 19 of season 1 as a Met. There are 2,383 more games of Soto on the Mets and his “no-hustle slump” has resulted in a 0.822 OPS. I think it’s going to turn out alright!
