@francessmith I was quite disappointed that Penny was so beastly to the memory of Boris. With these current Tories, it's so tricky to work out which are the goodies and which are the baddies! I am clinging to Priti Patel and Suella Braverman as two who have behaved well.

The idea that because Theresa May said something you agree with about Boris that she would suddenly be a good PM is no less bonkers than the idea that because Penny Mordaunt looked good carrying a sword at the Coronation she would.

@andrew_lilico But that is not what has happened to Boris is it? He told Parliament all rules had been followed they had not. The effort he made to ensure his statements were true were minimal.

They’ve borrowed from Lineker’s playbook. Labour are a party of goalhangers and left-wing strikers. That doesn’t work in politics. The country needs centre forwards, people who are prepared to put the hard work in and create opportunities. And it needs a team captain with a plan.
