@Handlebarbleep @jonlis1 In attempting to solve a tiny problem that could have been sorted by sports bodies and a bit of common sense on behalf of Scottish prison wardens, real mental health damage has been done to an already persecuted minority. How many suicides before we realise what’s been done?

@ROFLtheZebra @jonlis1 As I said, it is much less frequent than the media or certain commentators would have you believe. However, what we are dealing with is perception. Psychologically safe spaces rely upon it to remain places of refuge. It is damaged even when breached only in theory.

If we now insist on ‘biology’ as the supreme category then presumably the trans men who have lived as men for years and pass as men to everyone who encounters them will now not only be welcomed in women-only spaces by gender-critical people but actively encouraged to use them?

@Handlebarbleep @jonlis1 The big problem is men don’t need to access female only spaces in order to assault women, they cheerfully do it in front of other men.

@jonlis1 Gold medal level whataboutism. Sexually predatory females are an eye-watering rare, in male facilities non-existent. Male sexual predators accessing female only spaces, whilst not as commonplace as the media would have you believe, is a much more clear and present concern.
