Ministers are understood to have accepted legally binding targets to cut carbon emissions by 87pc by 2040, which is set to trigger a wave of new climate-based red tape and levies, including new taxes on meat products. Welcome to your Net Zero future.

‼️ Brilliant news taxpayers!! … In one year. The government has WRITTEN OFF £6.6 BILLION of your hard earned cash in an ‘oops, oh well’ sort of way. In addition it made special payments of £293million to outside departments (what?) Oh and Government estimates it owes £73.4billion in compensation schemes - up £11.8 billion Among the write off losses are ▪️£290m lost on the Rwanda plan ▪️£472m wasted scrapping road projects ▪️£1.6bn lost on cancelled MoD projects ▪️the rest swallowed by migrant hotels, asylum backlogs, lawyers, bureaucracy and failed border control Shh … pretend it didn’t happen 💣

The UK borrowed another £24.3 billion in April, above the £20.9 billion forecast by the Office for Budget Responsibility.  The ONS said the debt interest bill rose to £10.3 billion last month – the highest on record for April, which marks the start of the new financial year. The government is paying more than £100 billion a year to service its debts. Yet a cacophony of Labour and Green pols think we should borrow even more.

Labour’s desperation to return to the EU proves that it is all out of ideas. When Europe is in terminal decline, how on Earth would rejoining actually help Britain? Labour is now totally ideologically bankrupt, says Patrick West buff.ly/tC1lXBz

When this first happened, Yvette Cooper seemed more interested in criticising the police and siding with the attackers than standing up for brave officers who get injured in the line of duty. This is just another example of Labour’s two-tier approach to law and order. The CPS must pursue a retrial and see this through. Police officers who are assaulted in the line of duty are owed the full weight of the justice system. itv.com/news/granada/2…

@ShabanaMahmood Yes and you will make the situation even more dangerous by placing these unvetted males in HMOs right among the community. Thanks again for making a bad situation even worse, Shabana.

Rachel Reeves for Leeds West and Pudsey
Good news for families across Leeds West and Pudsey - every child aged 5-15 in England will travel free on buses this summer, with unlimited journeys, no registration required, and no cost to families. Labour is tackling the cost of living and building a stronger Britain 🇬🇧

@10DowningStreet @CliveBn8twsptcr Only due to the amount of affluent British people you have driven out of the country and making it a terrible place to move to unless you want freebies.

Hard‑working families are still feeling the squeeze and too often think they have to hold back. To add to the support we've already put in, we're making sure all children in England can travel free on buses in August. We are also reducing VAT to 5% between 25 June-1 September on children's meals, children's and family tickets for cinema, theatre, exhibitions, shows and concerts and attractions tickets.

You put the wages and NI up which then put the price of everything up, we are worse off, and the government makes way more on VAT as a result. Win for the government and benifits scroungers only, not a single penny for the poor or working class. You have even put holiday tax on them for the summer, first class wankers.
