Faith without fandom. Exposing the man-centered gospel of American Christianity. Christ is King, not a brand.

I have a question for free-gracers and Calvinist What is James 2 saying to you? How do you harmonize this with your view? Honestly

@BrysonGray I already answered that. If James 2:24 means our works are the basis of justification before God, why does James spend the entire chapter talking about whether faith is dead or alive instead of asking how a sinner gets justified?

@BrysonGray He’s saying that someone who claims to have faith but has no works has a dead faith. Works don’t produce justification before God; they demonstrate that faith is genuine. That’s why James asks, “Can that faith save him?,” not “Can faith save him?” To harmonize: context x3

@BrysonGray Yeah. Christ’s works, not ours. Romans 4–5 is about God justifying the ungodly through Christ’s obedience, not ours. Was David talking about circumcision in Romans 4:6–8?

The “works” Paul is talking about in Romans 4 is exclusively the “works” that you need to be circumcised to be saved. Paul explains this is if you keep reading instead of trying to make Paul contradict James.

@BrysonGray Oh ok. Thanks for clearing that up. I thought you were talking about some kind of works based Salvation situation.

@BrysonGray @ThaRhymeKing An undercover Talmudic Jew would not quote Paul or Jesus. No way. Nor would they produce music professing Christ is King. We are all God's kids trying to figure it out.

Serious question: If Tolkien invented Quenya, did God already know Quenya before Tolkien created it, or did God learn it from Tolkien?

The gospels were not written to us. The church started with Paul. Romans through Philemon are for the church. The rest is useful but is not for us. If you don’t acknowledge this, scripture is full of contradiction and errors.

@EvanPaul05 “Us” verse 8 is the “we” in verse 1. “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,” Romans 5:1.

@rootcausesleuth Johnny Mac nailed it! Unless you think because a person can believe any one single true thing that that makes John wrong. It seems like that would be your argument.

@Leviticus_isFun @rootcausesleuth You think you have explained and shown this underlying belief Sproul has that can only be found in the article? That’s what I am asking for. That’s what you claimed. You said “as if” only refers to part of what he said. Why? B/c you say so? Those words are not only in the article

@BrysonGray Only those who love God obey Him. Only those whom He has made alive love Him. Obedience is the fruit of loving God. Any other so called obedience is trying to bribe God like a pagan.

One common thread throughout: the Jews rejection of Jesus, from Jerusalem to Rome. This is the theme of the book of Acts. Most see it simply as the account of the beginning of the Church, but that view does not hold up under scrutiny, as is evident here.

@Leviticus_isFun @rootcausesleuth Not trolling. Read the comments. You said the article shows his underlying belief and I asked you how that was so. I asked because you didn’t say why or demonstrate it. You merely asserted it. How does the article show this underlying belief that was not in the actual message?
