The US just got downgraded. What happens to Bitcoin when the world’s most trusted borrower loses trust? 🧵

Ferrari better study the mistakes Porsche made. They forced EV’s down the throat of their customers & they rejected it. Profits went from $4B to $40m in the first 9 months of 2025 to 2024. 13,000 fewer deliveries of cars. Listen to your customers not politicians & the EU.

we can all make pinanfarina slop. we can all take the model trained on a million ferrari photos and make an image that looks like a ferrari. we can all one-shot a better looking car than what jony ive just came up with. i get the logic. look here, with close to zero effort i can conjure a thing of objective beauty. but with even less effort than that, you can simply pull up an old photo of a 250 GTO and say, "this is beautiful." there's something deeply insidious about LLM "creation": the danger the luce portends, which i don't see abating anytime soon--is that in the domains in which we cannot create, have no notion of what it takes to create, creation now seems within our grasp. we have been granted a tool whose output is by definition maximally derivative, yet convinces us we're each an inventor

My hot take is that the Luce will go down as a supremely nice car, and people in the market for it will love it To me, the only unforced error Ferrari made was to market it in cerulean, which has never been a premium color for cars. If the videos and the materials where in red, they would have avoided half of the complaints
joshpuckett@joshpuckett

I love how Jony and Flavio predicted the precise, immediate response we're seeing to the Luce. It's almost like they're good designers who know a thing or two about design! Clip from @cleoabram's interview, a must watch.

The Ferrari Luce is quickly becoming the most controversial Ferrari ever. Why? "The problem is that we are living in an era where the nostalgic approach is very high. Everybody's looking at the past, not the future..." - Ferrari Chief Designer Flavio Manzoni "It's not that we're taking away something, but we're adding a new choice, which in some dimensions is unambiguously better. And in other dimensions you will understand them in terms of what is lacking. Perhaps it was reckless of us to do that, knowing that we will in some people's eyes be destined for failure. But I think we also love these absurd challenges..." - Jony Ive Full answer here on HUGE* Conversations:

Could be that I am wrong, of course. But I think they nailed the Ferrari essence combined with sprezzatura, and these things are going to sell like crazy to wealthy EV buyers in China and on the US West Coast who care about status and driving feel. And honestly, the more people hate it and cannot understand spending three quarters of a million on it, the more it becomes a status symbol. This thing will sell like hotcakes.

@Camp4 @ChristianxFranz Ive and LoveFrom folks went to Ferrari after Cook canned their Apple Car project. This is the most expensive mid-range sedan ever.

@QuintenFrancois Classic case of out of touch cooperate consultants given too much power. They’ve just offended their entire customer base and aspiring customers.

For the last 3 weeks I’ve had to keep this quiet… but I’ve genuinely been honoured to be one of the first people in the world invited to Rome to see the new Ferrari Luce. 🇮🇹⚡️🐎 Love it or hate it… this is a HUGE moment in Ferrari history and being part of the global launch honestly feels surreal. Grateful for every single one of you supporting this journey

#Ferrari #RACE #Luxusaktien
