this'll sound crazy, but when i was a kid, there were legitimately decent backup quarterbacks in the nfl. it's one of the more interesting changes in the league in the last 30 years.

There’s something wrong with a system that doesn’t allow you to keep players you’ve developed. I understand paying a tax on players you roster from free agency or trades. But you shouldn’t be penalized for players you want to re-sign who you drafted or signed as undrafted. Why should a team that’s great at player development, have to act as a farm system for others?
