When historians look back at American Politics they will see the Crime Crackdown in DC by @realDonaldTrump and then him saying "We'll help Chicago, we're ready to come" knowing he needs the Governors approval to come "help", and that will NEVER happen, could be seen as the single greatest political move in history as long as he doesnt send the troops anyway, that would be catastrophic. With their Governor saying "there's no problem in Chicago, we dont need your help" then at this point the good people in these inner cities will see that their Democrat politicians dont care about them and dont want them or their families to ever feel safe..."Trump's plan worked in DC it could work here too, why do the Democrats refuse the President's help" would be the Fox News soundbite from some battle wearied citizen of Chi-Town who's 6 year old boy, collateral damage in a drug war drive by, she buried only last week.....and at that moment the Democrat party ceases to be a political force as Detroit, Chicago and Baltimore and the states they reside in flip Red....Trump should then say "Which Governor wants their people to feel safer.....just invite us" and could help bad blue and red cities where kids are being shot day in, day out. It depends on his next step....the best move is to do nothing but work on the DC crime numbers and let the Democrats hang themselves with their electorate for refusing federal help when the DC numbers have a year's worth of data ready for the midterms.....the red wave could be a tsunami. Just read out all the names of the kids shot in these cities and their ages. It wont even matter that crime was massively down in DC compared to 2024 before the intervention if the figures after intervention are eye wateringly good. These are the year on year figures for 14th-28th August during the period Trump had boots on the ground. However, if he storms into Chicago then there is going to be a body count and the country fractures. Your move Mr President...make it the smart one..We all know Inner city violence can be reduced with political will....like in New York when Guilliani took office...well it was Guilliani or Roe vs Wade being in place for about 20 years (see @StevenDLevitt's book Freakanomics for that one) that fixed New York. With the repeal of Roe vs Wade I guess we wait another 18 years and look for crime spikes in Red states then we'll see who was right, the politician or the economist. The Midterms might be a wild ride...all he has to do now is nothing but make DC the safest place on planet earth and it's game over Democrats.
