In this anthology, is a well documented paper Lisa Ling & I wrote to illuminate the complex systems of systems guiding US #drone operations generally absent in media discourse, it's failings and it's future. We called it the Kill Cloud. It's free here. 👇disruptionlab.org/whistleblowing…

If Trump had wanted to stop the Israeli attack on Iran, he could have easily. Israel depends on money from US workers, bombs from US stockpiles, and promises of US military protection. Impossible to imagine Israel doing this without clear expectation of US military protection:
Ryan Grim@ryangrim

The U.S. and Iran were scheduled to meet Sunday to continue nuclear talks. Trump told Israel publicly and privately not to attack before the talks were over. Israel clearly believes they can force the U.S. into this war of their choosing.

@morris_nra @21WIRE @PamelaDrew I care more about this country and its constitution than you do bud. Innocent people are getting caught up. That’s why we have due process. You don’t want a country that sends people to gulags without trial. People are upset about it, and it’s their right to protest it.

If you are National Guard or Active Duty military and you are being ordered to violate the Constitutional rights of US citizens then this is the number to the GI Rights Hotline. There is support, you don’t have to go through with it. tel:1-877-447-4487

@GrantHermes Grant, you gave me a day in the middle of the week to respond. I shared a resource that provides exactly what is stated. It’s not a “troublemaking” organization, but I expect any lever of accountability to be attacked by this administration.

@Pitsr4me68 Whats your point bud? I’m not talking semantics. I’m saying if orders are illegal under the constitution it is the obligation of every officer and NCO to fight that order. It appears you are saying it’s their duty to obey everything despite illegality, that’s wrong.

@Pitsr4me68 Actually. If the order is illegal it’s obligatory to refuse it. A commanding officer orders soldiers to indiscriminately open fire with live ammo on a crowd of people; illegal. Doesn’t matter what the tippy top says. DJT is not a king, he’s also bound by the Constitution. 😉

How about just getting rid of mandatory tips and make employers pay a fair wage. The service is the same wherever this is the case and employees aren’t beholden to the whims of customers for their daily wages. The American tip culture is out of control. Its neither good for customers or employees.

📣 The rushed integration of AI into everything is a major threat to privacy, as we've been saying. Microsoft Recall is a great (not great!) example of exactly why--it screenshots everything on your desktop, to give AI the data to tell you...what you were doing on desktop. So, Signal took steps to protect you and everyone using Signal on Windows 11 from Recall's hunger for (Signal) data. Read more about how we navigated, and why we need to ecosystem to a lot more 👇
Signal@signalapp

We're ready for Microsoft Recall and the automatic screenshots it takes of everything on your desktop. Signal Desktop on Windows now includes support for a new "Screen security" feature designed to block screenshots of your Signal chats. signal.org/blog/signal-do…

Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur oPt
If governments now dare whisper “sanctions”, it’s because pressure—from people devastated by 20 months of uncensored genocide—works. But much remains pretense: sanction with one hand, arm & trade with the other. People must not stop now. Keep pressing.
Al Jazeera English@AJEnglish

“I do believe that this is a moral obligation that all of us have, to make sure that governments respect their legal obligations under international law.” Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine, discusses the recent threats some Western states have made to sanction Israel over its war on Gaza and aid blockade.

Particularly interesting when you consider how often our rulers say of America's adversaries that "Force is the only language they understand. Psychological projection is a powerful force in human affairs...

An 84% budget cut to the US State Department is insane, especially when coupled with a 13% increase to the military. This is the US basically completely closing shop on diplomacy and choosing to only "speak" through weapons.

REPORT: Biden Officials Admit They Never Pressured Israel for Ceasefire, as Israeli Leaders Boast of Playing Washington “God did the State of Israel a favor that Biden was the president during this period… We fought [in Gaza] for over a year and the administration never came to us and said, ‘ceasefire now.’ It never did. And that’s not to be taken for granted.” —Former Israeli ambassador Michael Herzog: A sweeping Israeli Channel 13 investigation has exposed the Biden administration’s complicity in Israel’s 19-month war on Gaza. Nine top Biden officials acknowledged avoiding real pressure on Israel—even as the death toll surpassed 30,000. Israeli leaders openly bragged they dragged out the war, playing for time until Donald Trump’s return. Former National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, Ambassador Tom Nides, and others defended their unwavering support for Israel—even as they admitted enabling a campaign one U.S. aide described as “killing and destroying for the sake of killing and destroying.” Here’s what the investigation revealed: 🧵⬇️
