A World War II-era seaplane makes an emergency landing right on a Phoenix street.
Smoke reportedly started entering the cockpit after the plane's engine made a noise. The video, captured by a camera mounted on the plane's wing, shows the aircraft's descent. All the passengers made it out safely.
An NTSB investigation is now underway.

All the lawn care companies in my area still use gas tools. Seems like it would be a no brainer to get an electric pickup and all-electric tools, then you can charge batteries from the truck all day and be way less noisy/stinky. Is there a reason this hasn’t happened at all?

@BeguiledGamer @TolarianCollege Yeah every time I go into a game store and observe they have zero sealed Pokémon product (much to the disappointment of my 6 year old kid), I’m glad I play Magic. At least I can usually actually get product, and cards’ value generally derives from their utility in-game.

@tetythom @justalexoki Australia is like that. They all have large American style houses with large clothes dryers just like in the US. But most only use the machines when it’s raining. The machine is a backup. The default option is hanging them on the clothes line in the backyard.

I believe Europeans actually enjoy the experience. There must be something cathartic about meticulously hanging every shirt and pair of pants on the clothesline. Dryers are very common and affordable, but hardly anyone uses them, especially in the South.
It’s definitely a cultural thing. 😅

It appears CP-3243 has crashed after departing La Paz, Bolivia earlier today. The aircraft entered a circling pattern 24 minutes after takeoff, lasting 2 hours, before losing height. Last signal received from the aircraft was at 14:57:57.

NEWS: Tesla has discontinued the white interior on all Model Y Premium trims built at Giga Shanghai, and replaced it with the new Zen Grey Interior (pic below).
This change includes Model Y Premium for Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Philippines, etc. This Zen Grey interior is the same interior color on the larger Model Y L.

@Angeliczelda44 2026 image is a long exposure image taken of the NIGHT TIME side of Earth. No sunlight, just some moonlight. 1972 image is in full direct sun and so has a lot more contrast and a much shorter exposure time.

It’s cheaper to sit in your EV to keep warm in winter than it is to heat your house.
No, seriously.
I did the maths.
Charging at home costs 7p per kWh.
Sitting in an electric car for an hour with the heating on uses about 5 miles of range.
That’s roughly 1.25 kWh.
So it costs around 8.75p.
So you can sit in a warm, insulated EV cabin for under 9p per hour.
Now compare that to heating a house.
Even a modest UK home can easily use 20kWh per hour when the boiler is firing.
Bigger house? Even more.
At 5.6p per kWh for gas…
That’s over £1 per hour to heat the house.
So if you’re just trying to keep yourself warm?
🚗 9p an hour
🏠 £1+ an hour
And people still say EVs are “expensive to run” 😜
Modern EVs are basically tiny insulated heat pods on wheels.
Netflix. Heated seats. Silence. Under 10p.
Tell me again how impractical they are.

@MichelleLA1981 $100,000 would be eaten up fairly quickly by health insurance and other costs that families currently don’t pay. Presumably they wouldn’t lose Danish citizenship so would still have free access to the rest of the EU, and most would simply move elsewhere in Europe I suspect.
