In case you missed the news, Giga Texas has begun Model Y Performance production. Now all variants of the Model Y (except the China-only YL) are built in Texas.

@wolter2010 @r_jegaa @Tesla UK version is rated based on WLTP standard whereas the US version is rated using EPA standard. EPA is a more realistic testing of real-world scenario.

@r_jegaa @Tesla Why is the UK version have 360 mile range and USA range is 306 miles? Did someone transpose the 306 when it should be 360 miles for the USA version? @Tesla

@DennisCW_ @teslaeurope If Elon has any say in it: "this Performance Y won't come out in the US until late 2026, if ever. Because you won't need it with Full Autonomy in the US." /s

I need your HELP identifying the individuals in the attached video. Shows them arriving next to my vehicle, & forcefully opening their car door against mine, resulting in a significant dent and damage to the wrap. This occurred at Food Lion off of 150 in Mooresville yesterday.

@macrodailyco @GuyDealership How is it that they get a $17/hour RAISE where I'm lucky to get barely $1.50/hour raise during my annual review? And I'm in IT for over 15 years. Not a recent college grad nor a low end position.

The car market in a nut-shell: 1) Interest rates at 20-year highs. 2) Consumer savings depleted. 3) Vehicle prices slowly normalizing (with some exceptions). And yet… sales volumes are fine. The real looming issue in the industry right now? Undoubtedly margin compression. Earnings are declining, and readjusting to lower earnings is a messy process…

@honabahrain @POTUS @JoeBiden My 19 year old son was recently killed in a motorcycle accident at the end of July. For my family, this was a tragedy that is so hard to accept. However, seeing & hearing about these innocent children being killed there is a tragedy that should NEVER happen. The poor families :(

I am outraged and deeply saddened by the explosion at the Al Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza, and the terrible loss of life that resulted. Immediately upon hearing this news, I spoke with King Abdullah II of Jordan, and Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel and have directed my national security team to continue gathering information about what exactly happened. The United States stands unequivocally for the protection of civilian life during conflict and we mourn the patients, medical staff and other innocents killed or wounded in this tragedy.

If this is Tesla's compact car, it makes sense. As marketing begins to ramp up for @WalterIsaacson biography of @elonmusk, we are getting a ton of never-before-seen nuggets regarding Tesla's development of their Gen III platform. In the last few excerpts from the book, we learned that this platform will be the basis of Tesla's upcoming Robotaxi and Compact Car, both of which are under development in Tesla's Texas Gigafactory. These two vehicles will share the same highly automated manufacturing process geared for really high volume (millions of units per year). Each car is built to serve two different segments: A compact car starting around $25k with steering wheel and pedals. A Robotaxi that will be completely driverless and without steering wheel and pedals (commonly referred to as Level 5 autonomy). We also learned that this new platform would have a "Cybertruck feel", likely referencing the styling cues and stainless-steel finish of Tesla's upcoming pickup truck, set to hit the roads in the next month or two. On CBS's Sunday Morning show that aired 9/10, we got a glimpse of what may be this brand-new platform, with Tesla's chief designer @woodhaus2 standing next to it. In my opinion, I think this is likely a very early design prototype of Tesla's compact car. If you look at the pictures on the wall on the left of the imagine, you can see prototype renderings of a compact vehicle that could pass for having "a Cybertruck-feel" with its sharp edges, angular design, and stainless-steel look. Here are the images from the wall zoomed in. To my eyes, one image looks like the front side view, while the other looks like a rear side view. If this is the case, we can gather some new info on Tesla's approach for this brand-new vehicle. First, the car is very much geared towards the compact segment, with what looks like a single row of seats, with potentially room for 2 more in a pinch towards the back-half of the vehicle. These could fold down to give more room for luggage and storage in the trunk area. Also, if we look at where the cabin is in relation to the front of the vehicle, there seems to be space for a front trunk. The size of this frunk will be dependent on where Tesla decides to house the motor, electronics, and components of the car (either rear wheel, or front wheel). If it's rear-wheel drive, then the front area should have a lot more room for storage, and vice-versa. The car's shape also appears to be extremely aerodynamic, which will help in maximizing efficiency. This will in turn help keep costs of operation very low, which will be important for those looking to leverage this platform for a driverless fleet. Next, in a world where Tesla achieves autonomy and they start building driverless vehicles that are very cheap to run, the cost-per-mile of this car will be significantly lower than a Taxi and/or Uber with a driver, due to the lack of driver. In my opinion, this should dramatically increase the demand for single passenger vehicles, because folks will be able to get a ride from point A to point B, for much cheaper than a Taxi and/or Uber (and potentially much cheaper than owning your own car), and ride around in complete privacy due to no driver. Because of this increased demand, the amount of batteries Tesla will need to manufacture these cars is way more than they can make right now. In order to crank these out as quickly as possible, Tesla will need to be super smart about the size of the vehicle, its efficiency, and how many batteries it needs to put in the car so that it's good enough to serve this brand new market. Lastly, for those that are still looking to drive their own cars and would bias towards the $25k compact version, this form factor is a clear differentiator from Tesla's current lineup with the Model 3 and Y. The purchasing decision becomes a lot easier between a $25k car and say a Model 3 that starts around $40k, because with this car you'd be giving up a much roomier interior, room for luggage, and performance. However, in markets where affordable modes of transportation are in high demand (like the US), this vehicle should perform extremely well in its non-self-driving configuration. It's always fun to speculate, and this is nothing more than speculation. But it kind of makes sense that Tesla would choose to go down this path. What do you think?

If Elon stops talking about autonomy until it works near flawlessly and focuses on his amazing existing businesses - EVs where TSLA dominates everyone (what competition?) and Energy where profits just tripled and gross margins are now higher than on EVs - $TSLA stock would be higher. Imagine if Tim Cook said $AAPL is going to cut price on iPhones and make it up on cloud storage and Apple Music and other services - that would never happen. TSLA fundamentals are outstanding but that fact gets lost in all the noise. @MartinViecha

@GuyDealership I had 0.0% financing on a brand new VW Passat I bought in 2017, financing thru VW Credit. I could have bought the car in cash but decided to finance it for a long as I could (72 mths). That way I could put my cash in other investments, which paid off nicely (into Tesla stock).

@jamesbulltard7 @DonMiami3 @GuyDealership I've owned a Model 3 for over 4 1/2 years, regularly driving up and down the US East Coast. And in all my Supercharging times, I've never had to wait at a Supercharger. Maybe you do in California, but that's not the case here on the East Coast.
