@jerryjliu0 Just pay the couple of bugs per a thousand pages for Mistral OCR (which is SOTA for this task). I don't see how this micro optimization brings you any value

Parsing PDFs at scale with LLMs is cost prohibitive. Newer models (e.g. gemini 3) are good at reading pdfs, but you burn unnecessary vision tokens even when the page is text heavy. We’ve built in a “cost-optimizer” within LlamaParse that will dynamically route pages to fast/cheap parsing depending on its complexity. Complex pages (e.g. those with tables/charts/diagrams) will still get routed to our VLM-enabled modes. This will let you save anywhere from 50-90% of parsing costs, at much higher accuracy compared to the comparable mode of feeding screenshots into VLMs. Check it out! cloud.llamaindex.ai

@ki_agent Ausgezeichneter Kommentar.

More "transport plastic" in the trash than bottle plastic in the deposit return machine. Green policies in Germany are a joke

@cattleguy92 @FoxNews I’ve thought about returning some ground to pasture that was broken out 60 years ago but not sure how long it would take to establish.

There is an alternative to all this. It’s not necessarily easy though. Maybe it’s time for @FoxNews to interview guys like me again because we have a bit different take on this all. 1- we cut our own throat by buying into the big Ag narrative and hamster wheel! 2- we can’t and shouldn’t expect handouts 3- we raise more grain than the world can get to or pay for those who actually need it 4-we shoot ourselves in the foot by buying million dollar equipment and paying high cash rent just to try and make more 5- taking ground from cattle production and putting it into grain because it’s easier money was dumb 6- we showed and sent money to SA so they could eventually take over as producers. That can’t be taken back and we can’t subsidize our way out! Now A Warning!!!- If we don’t keep our independent Beef production alive we will soon be in the same boat with it!!

1880 acre fenced pasture. Got ‘em on 175 acres for a while by using the Vence Collars. Really happy with the results this year. Turned 2 pastures into 15 so far, with about 33% of those pastures seeing total rest.

Everyone knows about Flash Attention. But do you know about Flash GEMM? This code computes (A @ B) @ C on NxN matrices with N intermediates and no recomputation. If you don't use a BLAS library, you don't need to materialize the intermediate matrix.

If combine monitors measured net revenue generated per acre instead of yield per acre…our country, our communities, our operations, and our farms soil health would look completely different than it does today.

I'm seeing a whole lot of posts blaming that egregious Tea app data leak on vibe coding I don't think vibe coding was involved at all: the statement from Tea says the leak involved "a legacy data storage system" from February 2024 - vibe coding wasn't really happening back then

We have 270,000 users today. Our retention rates are outperforming industry average. We have our own infrastructure and our own apps. We have built new and unique primitives for payments, data, and social graphs. We have shipped several successful and thoughtful products in short time spans. We have industry-wide partnerships. We have a global reach that extends far outside of crypto users. We’ll end this year profitable. We achieved all this without KOLs, airdrop farming, or paid marketing. I would like to meet some serious VCs who aren’t seeking max token extraction and like to invest in long term companies.

@FredVLarsen Please expand on what is going on here! You have established Lucerne, you cut it, then direct seeded oats into the Lucerne, and after combining the Lucerne will come back? What about weed control? Not necessary?

What a nice surprise. Managed to get the winter milling oats with the #livingmulch below off in good condition. Not much lucerne yet but hoping for a nice lucerne #livingmulch regrowth. Oat yield: 9,5 ton/ha which we are very happy with.

Wonder why farmers are shitting themselves when they aren't getting the rains? This gives you a pretty good idea. In the past 13 years farmer inputs have increased by 68% Equipment costs up 75% Commercial seed up 49% Fertilizer prices have doubled. This is not sustainable.
