@henson_valerie @georgejroy I don't see any many issues with respect as I do with silliness for the sake of getting attention or being considered funny. When students have a public forum, sometimes they take advantage of it to get some laughs and struggle to engage in an academic manner. #edte731spring2021

@georgejroy A benefit to using social media in the classroom is that it gives students a platform for all voices to be heard. A challenge would be ensuring respectful and appropriate conversations between students. #EDTE731SPRING2021

@JohnEng81417400 @georgejroy As a Language Arts teacher, I think that students do best when they verbally talk through something first and then use technology to write. It seems that the ability to convey one's thoughts and respond clearly in a live conversation is becoming a lost art.

@georgejroy One of the potential challenges I see is that students already conduct much of their life through social media platforms, therefore students may miss valuable lessons in real-life social skills. #EDTE731SPRING2021

@JennaLabossiere @georgejroy That is great! I have been on Class Dojo, but I have not explored that aspect. Sounds like a nice alternative that can still be engaging. Thanks!

@ClarevO @georgejroy I agree that social media can be tricky. I know a lot of parents who are uncomfortable with the idea of their children being on social media, even if it is school related. I like the app class dojo because there is a 'class story' option that is similar a feed-but more private.

@georgejroy One challenge of using social media in the classroom is that not all students are allowed to participate in social media with their cellphones. One benefit is the increased engagement. #EDTE731SPRING2021

@AlexFogle11 @georgejroy I would agree that for most students and parents, navigating social media feels more natural and accessible than many of the online grading and behavior systems used by my school.

One of the benefits of using social media in the classroom is the ease of access for students. A challenge of this practice is the content that is available to students on social media and the distractions they may face while using the media outlet. @georgejroy #EDTE731SPRING2021

@ErinRNapier Should my friend paint her beadboard ceilings white or leave them natural? I vote natural!

@MrHabegger @fssdFMS This is much better than when they calculate the total. If done incorrectly, it was a computation that actually made the kids have an INVERSE amount of GRIT.

@NaturalizerShoe Thanks making another "wide" shoe...that's NOT. I think it's time my wide foot meets your narrow butt.

@SouthwestAir fails again. They can't find my luggage the day after my flight. And they're charging me 25 dollars to give it back to me.
