@rbarbosa91 @SAGES_Updates Selective, if it looks abnormal - yes, what is there age … ie lifetime risk. Lumen of bowel was already violated.. more likely to do and I never want to go in this abdomen ever again and especially right lower quadrant … all factors

A trauma patient undergoes damage control laparotomy. Various things are done, including on the GI tract. They subsequently have more operations to finish reconstruction and close the abdomen. Would you consider doing an incidental appendectomy during one of the cases?
