It is common knowledge that Kasane Teto can sing in Ancient Greek with a 4th AD Koine accent, isn't it?

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement
ICE HSI and its partners repatriated 26 ancient artifacts to the Hellenic Republic of Greece during a ceremony at the Embassy of Greece in Washington, D.C. April 23. This marble torso of Asclepius, ancient Greek god of medicine and healing from the 1st or 2nd century, which stands 40 inches tall, was among the repatriated artifacts. Law enforcement seized it following an HSI and CBP investigation. 🔎See more repatriated objects and learn more in our newsroom: ice.gov/news/releases/…

@ClassIUnknown Zero sources? Adopting crescent after the conquest? I have posted the 6th century AD Göktürk coins, and explained the differences; are you blind?

@hermes_z @EvrenSAuthor Glad we're aligned on that. Dimou's point cuts to how 19th-century European romanticism essentially scripted modern Greek identity, layering classical myths onto a very different Ottoman-era reality. History's full of these constructed narratives.

@Hexa3333 Sorry but when you read my reply you thought im talking about silly little 'yogurt is greek' debates? What I read every day from Turks: - Ancient Greeks were not Greek - Greeks didnt exist until 1830 - Greeks stopped existing after Roman conquest - Byzantines werent Greek at all

You feel like you live in a different universe because you do not know much about the one you live in. Cultural exchange between the Turks, Greeks, and many ancient cultures of Anatolia have happened for all sides. Obviously, painting the situation as if Greeks stole their culture from Turks is an absurd overstatement. I enjoy it because it gives you a taste of your own medicine though, as Greeks are the people with the most we-wuzzery to exist. Many things in our culture, what the world usually knows to be Greek, is really Greek. Many things in your culture, what the world knows to be Greek, is actually Turkish. These accounts are just reactionary, dude.

@EvrenSAuthor You are right that the Byzantine Star is the no the same as the Other flags, but thats because Ottomans & Turks today use the Byzantine star.

@EvrenSAuthor 1) it is however a source, and a source is better 0 sources like you 2) I never mentioned Islam in my reply 3) Ottomans adopted the Crescent right after Conquering Constantinople (the city of Byzantium) as it was still the banner of it.

@mezaryeri @metboyaz Did you reply to the wrong comment? I dont see how this has anything to do with what I said. As for the immigration/refugee crisis, why doesnt Turkey just send them back? Dont you have the ability to send all the Syrians back to Syria? The Kurds are already in their own region

@zamacingo In fact I would even argue that Modern Greece is more Eastern Roman than Turkish is Ottoman, linguistically culturally & ethnically speaking that is

@zamacingo What Im wondering about is why Turks try so hard to play the semantic game of how "ERE was politically Roman and thus not Greek", we could very well play the same game for the Turks that the Ottoman Empire wasnt really "Turkish" in the modern sense of the word

There was no Greece in 1400s. Turks did not take the land of today’s Greece from Greeks Nobody was speaking of an “Empire Grec” in 11th c. either

@medievalmlord Well, its actually a return from 400 years for Greece but some in Europe have amnesia and pretend Greece is about some antiquity....
