Smoking at restaurants is bad for business. I was all set for a post lunch coffee and desert. But the 4 banshees sitting next to me have end to cigarettes since they sat down. As such, I decided to forgo dessert and coffee to escape them.

One of the best things Australa ever did was ban smoking in areas where people eat. Including outside. I was enjoying a delicious lunch outside in Spain. A group of loud women sit right next to us and sequentially all light up a cigarette. Its disgusting. It spoils the meal.

There is a new bulk billing calculator where you can plug in the patient numbers and apparently under universal bulk billing you may be better off. Except plugging in my numbers causes a MINUS 43k shortfall MM6 MINUS 35k shortfall MM7 If this is the case for every single solo rural doctor then how would the government ever expect rural and remote sites to get onboard clearly the incentive falls way, way short of meeting practice costs or current income and in effect is asking us all to take a pay cut. Cover the locations we do but now for less?

☠️ Dear Physician Assistants, It is illegal to claim to be an “EAR SURGEON” without being a doctor and having gone through structured training from F1 to ST7. ⭕️ This sheila didn’t even work in ENT and only gained her experience after seeing patients in GP land! ⭕️ She is diagnosing and treating patients with ENT issues. ⭕️ Would the GMC be interested in seeing this? You can’t shortcut your way into surgery.

@jabberwock951 @juliaisobela I had similar, it had 2 or 3 digits when the extensions were 4 numbers. I went to all the wards that night I was responsible for asking who paged. One complained that I was finally there so I scrolled through the pager and showed them and asked them to dial those numbers

@juliaisobela Wait until you get a blank bleep with no phone number three times in a row, and then find "doctor bleeped x3, did not answer" in the notes the following day.

One of my biggest pet peeves about being a doctor is the times you get bleeped & you respond immediately, but nobody picks up the phone on the other end Like, where did you go in those 5 seconds it took me to dial? 🥲😭

To qualify for @AustralianLabor's new "bulk billing" practice incentives, GPs must also BB all after hours care. This will pay about $90 for a standard appointment on a weekend or at night. ...my vet charges $300. A plumber call-out fee is $200. Get serious @AlboMP.
