I just finished an offensive line manual I wish I had early in my career. Not more plays. Not more scheme. Just a simple system: – Indy – Technique – Combos – Fixes – Friday adjustments No fluff. Comment “OL” and I’ll send it.

On Friday, @ColinCordle took over the #1 spot on both our program’s career points scored list, and last night he topped the list for most points scored in a single season. He now holds the trifecta of high-point totals by a SAHS boys basketball player. Congratulations, Colin!

Performance follows emotions. Negative emotions usually lead to negative performance. Positive emotions usually lead to positive performance. Control your emotions to control your performance.

Decided not to study much for an exam, or skip out on practice before a big game? Under preparation is a coping strategy for stress. It allows you to protect your ego because you didn't 'try.' Actually putting forth effort, requires being okay confronting your limits.

You can’t consistently pursue comfort and expect to handle adversity well. The only way to get better at hard things is to do hard things. Keep showing up.

“A task hasn’t been done properly until it’s been done completely. It’s not enough to score. It’s the scorer’s responsibility to finish the job & get back on defense. If you’re standing around while the other team scores, what good is that? It’s a job half done.” — Pat Summitt

I recently asked @TroyAikman whether kids should play multiple sports growing up or focus exclusively on one. His answer was fantastic. "Decisions are being made for kids that are in the best interest of the coaches or an organization — and not in the best interest of a child."

You don't get the culture you want just by saying "this is our culture". You get the culture that you earn. You get the culture that you fight for. You get the culture that you demonstrate on a daily basis. Your culture is what you intentionally practice, nurture, and promote!!

Life isn’t fair. Everyone fails. Everyone falls. Things don’t always go your way & life doesn’t hand out participation awards. But it does give you opportunities to keep going until you get it right. Don’t whine or complain. Don’t give up. Just get back up & keep getting back up!

If D1 schools aren’t reaching out to you, you may not be a D1 player & that’s ok. Don’t be married to the level. Be married to the right academic fit for you. Stay in the gym. Keep getting better & then use the game to cement your future. College degrees don’t say D1, D2 or D3!
