I grew up in South Central LA in a house with 15 family members. My mom struggled with addiction. I never met my dad, and adopted by my grandma. Today I’m a teacher, a football coach, about to marry the love of my life, and we’re expecting our first child. Sitting in church this morning, we were asked, “What’s in your heart?” I realized I’d spent so much of my life chasing the next accomplishment that I almost missed the fact that I’m living the life I once would’ve prayed for. God has been faithful in ways I never could’ve imagined. The greatest blessing isn’t what I’ve accomplished—it’s that, by His grace, I get to serve others every day through my family, my classroom, and the football field. By God’s grace, I’ve already won. Don’t let the pursuit of more steal your gratitude for what you already have.

Stop running sprints. Condition your players with full-court drills that involve a ball. It builds functional speed and keeps the players engaged. Half speed is not half good enough.

As a high school coach I believe heavily you need to adjust to your players year to year. Don't try and fit a square peg into a round hole!
