Project Hail Mary had too many endings. Across the Spider-Verse didn't have any. Maybe Lord and Miller's next movie will have the right amount of endings.

Sandra Hüller says she drew inspiration from Dana Scully of The X-Files to portray Eva Stratt in Project Hail Mary. “Gillian Anderson did such incredible work with her. I think she’s the first female scientist in a leading role on TV — she set a lot of standards with that work. @bendreyfuss @notjessewalker It’s odd when you watch a movie you want to like and realize, “Oh, this is terrible”. I don’t enjoy that feeling. I tend to lower expectations of everything, so I rarely get disappointed in stuff.

@notjessewalker Yeah you’re right about all of this and I even think you might be too generous. I left watching it trying to make excuses for it and then spoke to a friend of mine who loved the show and they were like “awful!” And it sort of was a cathartic permission to admit I hated the movie

Bigger than Oppenheimer's % hold. Bigger than Dune 2. Bigger than Interstellar.
It's not looking like a movie that can go higher than $250M and maybe as high as $300M at the domestic box office!

Getting to the perpetual virginity of Mary doesn’t require any creativity with scripture at all. It just requires understanding scripture to be saying what the Church has always understood. In other words, for those who didn’t jettison Sacred Tradition of sola scriptura, it’s clear as day. Mary **obviously** remained a virgin and any alternate reading of scripture is ignorant misunderstanding.
