Success… it takes what it takes! Success isn't a mystery; it's a series of calculated choices. Greatness isn't random, nor is it reserved for a select few. It's formulaic and repeatable for all who are willing to WORK. @BallisPsych

You’re either getting better or getting worse. In order to improve and be your best, you must intentionally put in the work and the effort. You can’t control how everything turns out, but you can control that you actively pursue improvement, wisdom and strength. Take action. Work for what you want. Get better everyday. You, and everyone around you, will thank you for it.

Compete. Give relentless effort. Control what you can control. These are all choices. They require 0 talent or skill. Simply the decision to show up everyday and go all out. Showing up and deciding you want to be the best version of yourself everyday. Make the choice. You’ll inspire others around you and set yourself up for a bright future.

The Winning Difference
The Winning Difference@thewinningdiff1·
"Everybody wants to win. Everybody doesn't necessarily want to prepare to win. You have to learn to love the process that will put you in a position to achieve greatness." Winning is public. Preparation is private. And most of the time, the private work decides the public result.

Energize yourself with gratitude!! You can waste energy complaining about your circumstances or energize yourself with gratitude… gratitude turns what you have into enough. @BallisPsych

Micheal Jordan might be the ultimate example on responding to setbacks. Successful people all have a comeback story. This is because they fought through failures to get them to where they are today. Their legacy was forged through fire, not through ease & comfort. As you get older, your rebound time should go down. As you learn and grow, your ability to rebound after a setback should shrink. That’s developing mental toughness. I define toughness as, “Be at your best and overcome all adversity.” Setbacks are inevitable. No body is perfect, and there’s always going to be someone better. What do you do with that setback and how do you respond? That determines how your future will play out. All of these people listed embraced delayed gratification. They didn’t take the short-term treat, they worked, overcame and conquered the long-term success. When setbacks happen, ask yourself, “how can I use this? How can I respond? What needs to improve or change?”

If you want to be different than the rest, you have to be willing to sacrifice, separate & strive. No one can accomplish great things alone. It takes pushing each other & constantly raising the bar. “If you see a turtle on a fence post, you know he had some help”

Give your entire attention to the present and the things you can control. Don't worry about what you can't control; it's not worth it. An undivided mind is a sharp mind. Don't let your worries win. Stay undivided. @BallisPsych

This one right here is big. Greatness cannot be accomplished by yourself. It takes encouragement, support, teaching, guiding, and much more along the journey. It’s the whole “if you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.” It takes a village and a lot of moving parts to move things in the right direction and to accomplish the mission. You need people who will encourage you and coach you hard. It takes people who are strong where you are weak, and people who can think differently and outside of the box. Find people to bring on the journey. Stay humble. Commit to each other. Work for each other. Pick up the slack where needed. Help do your part to move the whole in the right direction. Remember, everyone has (and needs) help along the way. Do the same for others as those who did for you.

Kirby Smart shares the Navy SEAL and toughness mantra his team lives by. "Our kids believe in down and dirty. They believe in the SEAL mantra of - let's take them to the water. Let's see who can survive in the water and see who's gonna tap out first, ring the bell, and run from the contact contest." Being tough is a non-negotiable for Georgia football. "They believe in that." "They believe in the physical toughness that it takes to win games." The mindset is to outlast, outwork, and outtough. He builds the Georgia football program on standards, toughness, and relentless effort.

Kirby Smart doesn’t talk about winning - he talks about his non-negotiables. A masterclass on standards, toughness, and relentless effort. (📌Bookmark for later)
