Delighted to have my book mentioned by the Ageing Without Limit campaign. Grey Matters challenges stereotypes about mature women. Ageism is absurd.

Already sick of the pious Burnham fans. Just saying. Unfollow me if you're one of those. I like people who maintain high standards and have good morals. Ta.

Feel like I have to say this, but criticism of Burnham’s way of seizing power and control, together with his absurd northern shtick and vacuous soundbites, does not automatically mean someone is right wing/reform/elite/southern/tory/insert pejorative of choice

I'm going to just block everything #Burnham related. I'll be there for real Labour when this saga is long done, like I was after Corbyn but venting at this point is a bit self-indulgent when there's real world shit happenjng. Hope Burnham can prove me wrong. #Labour

The anger towards @andyburnham seems to increasing rather than abating. I think his ‘blitzkreig’ on various social media platforms is backfiring rather. What do you think? Overkill?

It’s hard to comprehend just how Machiavellian this has all been. Whilst Starmer was working hard for our country in the job he was elected into, this was happening behind his back. It’s breathtakingly disgusting. We have all been betrayed.

🚨🚨Andy Burnham became Prime Minister on Monday. Within five days he has opened “No.10 North” in Manchester — complete with contracts, furnishings, services, security, a logo, printed signs and banners, and held his first official meeting there. If anyone believes this happened spontaneously after he took office, they are kidding themselves. Secure government premises do not appear overnight. Security-cleared staff, protected communications, utilities, approved contractors, furniture, branding design, print runs and physical setup all require advance work - often months of it. Intelligence and security considerations alone make a genuine five-day turnaround from a standing start highly improbable. This raises obvious questions: How long have senior Labour figures been preparing the ground to remove Keir Starmer and install Andy Burnham? Was the No.10 North operation planned and advanced while Burnham was still Mayor, or while the leadership challenge was still unfolding? Government contracts, security clearances and official branding do not move at this speed without prior orchestration. The British public has watched a rapid transfer of power and the instant launch of a parallel Downing Street operation in the North. Mainstream coverage has largely treated the speed as unremarkable. That is not how transparent democracy usually looks. Full details on the temporary Heron House base, the longer-term Digital Campus plans, and the timeline: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No._10_No…

Many have asked why I have been so silent these past weeks. I'm heartbroken to say my beautiful, darling wife passed away on Thursday. She had held my heart in her hand from the first moment I saw her and we shared 36 wonderful years together. She had bravely battled cancer with courage and fortitude for many years yet still never lost the ability to light up a room with her beautiful smile, her wonderful sense of humour and her laughter. Not once did she give up the hope for life. I truely believe there is more to this existence than we know and that one day we shall be reunited by our love for each other, a love that was so honest and so real and so true. Until then I shall hold her tightly in my heart. When my daughter and I returned home from the hospital a red rose had appeared in our garden. It was right outside our door and had appeared from nowhere in a clump of dry weeds. Red roses were my wife’s favorite flower. She wore 3 in her hair at our wedding and carried a bouquet of red roses. I had asked her to send me a sign before she passed to say she was ok. It must have been sent by her. You will stay forever in my heart until we are together again my darling ❤️
