Jing Jang Jane. Nationalism is not Patrotism
This is the bottom line. If Sturgeon didn’t know then she shouldn’t have been on TV telling people the money was safe when she hadn’t even checked. On the other hand if she did know & lied to protect her husband & party that is a crime against Scotland. Both choices are criminal

🔥 Oh Dear. Craven, Diffley and Dougal not happy when Paul Sinclair speaks the truth. Think he'll be getting a red card from SNP TV!!

Why isn’t the lesbian midget in prison? Nicola Sturgeon was one of three signatories on the SNP's bank accounts alongside her husband Peter Murrell and treasurer Colin Beattie. She reassured the party's NEC that its finances had "never been stronger" and warned members against suggesting problems publicly.

OMG - The key line. "Ms Sturgeon was later told by Police Scotland that she would face no further action following direction from the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service" This tells us Police Scotland prepared and evidence file and intended to press charges Crown office (Bain) did not approve charges against Sturgeon. This in turn meant no changes could apply to Colin Beattie. The crown office saved Nicolas bum. That's the same Dorothy Bain who (1) Nicola appointed (2) leaked Murrells charges to John Swinney (3) moved the trial to post election (4) resigned 15/05

This is an interesting idea. If Holyrood refuses to back an inquiry, maybe Westminster’s Scottish Affairs Committee could launch a probe?
Ross Gilligan@Deemail76

@paulhutcheon If the SNP (with Greens) block an inquiry, the @CommonsScotAffs Committee should carry one out. Far from putting this matter to bed, Murrell’s conviction raises many more questions voters in Scotland deserve answers to.

People across Scotland will be deeply worried by another rise in energy bills announced today. We produce enormous amounts of energy, yet despite Labour’s promises to cut them, bills keep soaring. It’s time Scotland had control of Scotland’s energy.

John Swinney is a man with absolutely no integrity. He has presided over a culture of secrecy and cover-up at the heart of the SNP for decades. He should be ashamed of himself, rather than taking mock offence at the mere suggestion that he is not an honest individual.
Lewis McKenzie@LewisMcKenzie94

In the Scottish Parliament, John Swinney is once again showing everyone just how thin his skin is by getting angry about people questioning his "truthfulness" and "integrity". Maybe if you ever once bothered to tell the truth John, no-one would need to question your integrity.

Roger Mullin talking about Nicola Sturgeon. If Sturgeon had no suspicions about mismanagement of funds by her husband, why did she shut down scrutiny of the SNP accounts? If she thought all was OK, surely scrutiny would have been welcomed to prove it? archive.is/603Hi

The Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000. To say it was not the role of the "First Minister" to "sign off" the accounts turns out to be staggering misdirection, when it turns out it's the legal duty of the party leader or management committee to approve them.1/2

New statement from lawyer representing Nicola Sturgeon. Aamer Anwar says: “To make it abundantly clear it was not the role of the First Minister to sign off accounts, that was for the party treasurer. “Furthermore, there appears to be an assumption that as FM, when Mr Murrell was busy buying multiple pens or pepper pots etc she was with him, Ms Sturgeon was not, as unsurprisingly she was busy with other matters.”

As @WingsScotland noted the funds embezzled include a mix of donations, and other SNP income but also included UK taxpayer money from the Short money for opposition parties. Does a UK parliament committee have an interest in investigating what happened to those funds?
Paul Hutcheon@paulhutcheon

EXCL: Nicola Sturgeon could give evidence under oath on the Peter Murrell scandal if a plan for a Holyrood inquiry is approved. Scottish Labour are pushing for a committee probe into the former SNP CEO's disgrace. dailyrecord.co.uk/news/politics/…

Sturgeon was seen on multiple occasions in Halbeath, Dunfermline where her MiL lives prior to 2023 and claims she didn't know about the campervan until the police told her about it in 2023. Aye right!

1/ Something very important is being missed in the Peter Murrell coverage. And it explains why Murrell was able to carry on the embezzlement long after he should have been stopped. And why John Swinney cannot hide behind the “victim of criminality” defence.🧵

Is it only me that finds it strange that a person who’s not under investigation needs a lawyer to talk on their behalf but when there was an investigation they stood outside their house and spoke freely to the press themselves? Nicola Sturgeons behaviour is very odd.
