@aobrien2010 Where is any of this even going? Platner hasn't lived a hard enough life therefore folks should support Susan Collins? It's incoherent. #MEpolitics
English

"Susan Collins is a multi-millionaire who owns three houses [at least]" is not a sentence you will see in any Maine or DC-based legacy media publication and it's worth taking a moment to think about why that is. #MEpolitics

English

“If he’s an oysterman, I’m a florist, OK? Because I raise roses and give them to my wife,” said Tony Buxton, a former chairman of the Maine Democratic Party who had supported Ms. Mills. nytimes.com/2026/05/15/us/…
English

@TeamCollins207 Yes, we know Jeff Bezos and the rest of the billionaires are on Team Collins. #MEpolitics
English

“The biggest losers if Platner got his way would be the people of Maine.”

English

@scottwongDC Hey Scott, what percentage of the time did Susan Collins vote with Trump in 2025? And was that higher than or lower than her percentage of voting with the president in each of her 28 previous years in office? #MEpolitics

Vance calls Sen. Susan Collins ‘a good fit for Maine’ despite his frustrations with her nbcnews.com/politics/2026-…

@kenklippenstein Her official photo seems to be at least six years old:

English

@aobrien2010 Seems like Bellows/Jackson/Pingree need to cross endorse for #2 and it's bonkers that King is still putting up these kinds of numbers.
Friends don't let friends rank Nepo Angus. #MEpolitics

English

@igorbobic @alweaver22 Oh wow Susan Collins has questions. Why did you leave off the siren emoji?
More seriously: How does it serve readers to indulge the pretense that there's any relevant connection between Collins's questions and her votes? You know better. #MEpolitics
English

New: Approps Chair Susan Collins has lots of questions about $1B request for Secret Service:
“Why weren’t they fully funded in the president’s budget, which just came out last month?…Where did the billion dollars come from?”

@aseitzwald If only it was possible to do something similar with Susan Collins's votes or her votes on nominations etc etc etc. Impossible? Oh well. #MEpolitics
English

@aseitzwald @randybillings I wonder if you would term it "helpful" if Randy Billing and Press Herald ran an article headlined: "How can Susan Collins run for Senate with a tremor diagnosis?" or "How Can Faulkingham run for office with a felony conviction?" #MEpolitics
English

Helpful @randybillings explainer on how Graham Platner can run for Senate with a 100% disability rating. The key is VA disability =/= Social Security disability, which is what most people think of. pressherald.com/2026/05/11/how…

@mainemonitor Maine Monitor has been around in some form or another for a decade. To our knowledge it has never run a single deep-dive or accountability-focused story about Susan Collins. Think about that. #MEpolitics
English

The #Maine Monitor is publishing a searchable database of all of #GrahamPlatner’s since-deleted #Reddit comments, so people can read them more easily for themselves.

@speechboy71 What is the evidence for the claim that assault gun bans are broadly popular in Maine?
English

Sigh, assault weapons bans are broadly popular as is gun control legislation in general (and in Maine).
Most of the pundits who keep claiming that Democrats need to distance themselves from “progressive orthodoxy” are moderates, centrists or former Republicans who just like don’t progressive policies.
Josh Barro@jbarro
It’s good to run candidates like Graham Platner who break with progressive orthodoxy and shift to the center on issues where our party is out of step with a state’s voters.
English

Have you seen that attack ad on TV against Senator Collins? Well, don’t believe everything you see. An independent FACT CHECK finds the truth is very different from what an out-of-state, partisan group claims. Here’s what they found👇
factcheck.org/2026/05/democr…

English

@TeamCollins207 Why do all your ads feature Republican political operatives without identifying them as such? #MEpolitics
English

One day after saying “Susan Collins will run her campaign on negative attacks,” Graham Platner launches a negative attack. Collins, meanwhile, releases a positive ad focused on her record of results. Anyone noticing a trend? bangordailynews.com/2026/05/07/pol…
English

@jsscppr You left out the part about how all of Susan Collins's testimonials are from Republican operatives and electeds.

@CollinsWatch Oh believe me, I did. It came down to the fact that a lot of Democratic women wanted to vote for a woman.
English

He never voted for Trump. Ever. Platner, along with 40% of Maine Democrats (including my very liberal mom), voted for Collins in 2014 because they believed the moderate schtick and regretted it. 13% of Dems voted for Collins in 2020.
Trinity Votes 🇮🇱🇺🇦@TrinityMustache
That’s because you voted for Trump (and Collins) three times yourself. You’re full of shit, Nazi Tits
English

@aseitzwald Sounds like a Senate poll trying to cover its tracks or a pollster with a paid DST assignment tacking on a Senate poll because why not.
English

@MichaelSocolow @aseitzwald Yes, the editor of the Maine outlet that serves as an adjunct of the Collins media operation had a rosier view of Susan Collins's prospects in 2020 than many others. Not surprising. Also not worthy of accolades. #MEpolitics
English

*THIS* is the journalist you need to be following for the Platner-Collins race this summer/autumn.
Ignore any national reporter or pundit who contradicts or contests his reporting.
His reporting got Collins' 2020 victory right when everyone was believing the polls.
Michael Shepherd@mikeshepherdME
A lobbyist told Janet Mills on Wednesday night that he’d raise more money for her flagging campaign. “Hold off,” she said. @BenKail and I look at how Mills lost and Platner won. bangordailynews.com/2026/05/01/pol…
