Here's the terms used when a fighter is on the down side in Boxing 1. On the Back 9. A little past it, still serviceable for a quality showing. 2. Shot. He sees the openings but can't get his punches off anymore. Has a little punch resistance left. 3. Gonzo. Completely shot, can't get his punches off, legs are gone, & has no punch resistance left. When fighters are Shot, or are Gonzo, I use "He should really be in the Clubhouse" Which means be retired. Now you know terms used by real Boxing guys that describe fighters late stage of their career effectiveness.

Been told Lou DiBella caused a loud disturbance today in St Petersburg, as he was to be inducted into the Florida Boxing Hall of Fame, DiBella wasn't dressed properly for the occasion in shorts, stormed out yelling/screaming with 500 stunned onlookers, including young kids.

It was a fun Induction Weekend at the Florida Boxing Hall of Fame. I feel bad for Lou DiBella, who had a plane to catch (which he made by only minutes), so he couldn't stay to get his FBHOF ring or to accept for Bob Arum, who is recuperating from knee surgery. @ringmagazine

In 1979, I gave Ring Magazine's "Fighter of the Year" Award to Sugar Ray Leonard, who was 9-0 that year. I don't understand why so many feel this year it's Bud Crawford, who was 1-0. He gets "Performance of the Year." Fighter Award goes to 4-0 Naoya Inoue. @dougiefischer
