Patriotic American who believes the individual is the greatest minority on Earth. I value personal responsibility, common sense, and fixing what’s broken instead of walking away. Beaux is done with today. He prays that all suffering and division ends. He wants mom to sell everything and buy him a farm to house and care for all the animals in need of safe shelter. He says he’s working on it. -Love and peace 🐾

Six months today since I last held you in my arms. This was the morning you left us. This is my last picture of you alive: you were so determined, feeding yourself ice cream. Dad ran to McDonald’s in his pajamas at 8 a.m. just to get it for you. A few hours later, your breathing became so labored we couldn’t keep you comfortable no matter what we tried. I gave you a dose of Ativan to ease the struggle, and you reached out your little right pinky, looked me in the eyes, and said, “Don’t give me that again.” You made me pinky-promise. I laughed through my tears. I kept offering pain medicine, but you refused every time. You didn’t want to fall asleep, because you knew what that sleep meant… and so did we. In the hours that followed, Dad and I held you close, crying, talking to you, loving you. Your speech was fading, but you spoke slowly and used your hands so we could understand every word. I promised you I would spend the rest of my life missing you and that I would make sure the world never forgot you. We told you it was okay to go—that you had suffered more than any child ever should. We whispered that when you woke up, we would all be together again in Heaven. “For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.” —1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

SpaceXAI was caught uploading your code to its cloud. I reversed xAI's official Grok Build binary. In a controlled session with zero tool-calls, it uploaded the complete codebase to xAI's storage It ships a malware-like background code collector.
SpaceXAI@SpaceXAI

We care deeply about your privacy and respect customer choice. For teams using zero data retention, no trace and code data is ever retained. All API key use of Grok Build also respects ZDR. If ZDR is disabled, the /privacy command is available in the CLI to disable data retention, which also deletes previously synced data. Run the /privacy command to view or change your settings at any time.

I want to say welcome back to the folks that follow me and I follow you. This is called “mutuals” and finally we can see each other again. For months the recommendation algorithm fed us stuff. We both picked each other for a reason. Now the algorithm has once again favored this signal. If you are seeing this and have followed me for a while but I don’t follow you. Let me know. Not seeing who I followed for months actually made me a bit sad. It was like too many of you just left. It made this place feel less like home. Good to see you again friends. Deep gratitude.

I'm one of the last set of people born who grew up alongside PDPs and TRS-80s, learning the basics when the basics were all there were to learn! Then I was able to learn as I went for about 40 years, just trying to keep my head above water, understanding it all as it came along. Good thing that (a) I always loved it, and (b) I had 40 years to learn it!
LaurieWired@lauriewired

I’m convinced that a large % of programmers don’t actually like computers. As a side effect, are also perfectly happy to throw away their reasoning to a model as soon as they can. I don’t get it, at ALL. Don’t you *LIKE* understanding the magic of the machine? You do realize hand-programming (I hate that I even have to specify hand now) is fun…right?

@Scobleizer Fully agree, Robert. Richard Stallman was both a talented hacker at MIT and also sufficiently pissed off with the idea of commercial ownership of software that he fought tirelessly to bring the “free software” revolution into being.

Steve Jobs used to go around to his engineers’ computers and take RAM out of them (back in 1989). Heard this story from the original Mac team. Why? Constraints cause innovation. Silicon Valley knows this, or should. Go talk to Russian programmers who are often running tech companies about how they learned to write tight code on shitty computers. Taking away NVIDIA’s best cards from China will prove to be a remarkably stupid move for America. That just motivated nerds in China.

@pbeisel One of the things I most admire about Elon's companies is their practical, no-nonsense approach to engineering and manufacturing. It is a very win-win approach, yet many will never see it as such.

True. As a precautionary measure, all user data that was uploaded to SpaceXAI before now will be completely and utterly deleted. Zero anything whatsoever will remain.

I worked on building an end-to-end encrypted email/docs/files/calendar app @skiffprivacy for 4 years and care deeply about privacy. ZDR and /privacy are always respected in Grok Build - and swapping your setting with /privacy deletes any synced data retoractively

This is embarrassing. What a way to blow up my spot with an oncoming police vehicle that had its cruise lights on. FSD was basically asking to be pulled over for this maneuver. 🤦

It’s sad really. Starlink engineering & manufacturing scale builds a lot of confidence in StarMind. I also see some investors actively advising other investors not to spend time learning about the SpaceX tech and business (just yolo for or against Elon is the logic) which if they the research would build a ton of durable conviction.
