@CS3Count That Tuesday was bonkers busy. First time ever I couldn't get through the lights at Blackfriars in one cycle (i.e. it was red, went green and back red again before I got through). Gonna need another lane ;-).

@theJeremyVine @BallSherif @NMexpeditions As a fellow CS9 campaigner and C9 rider, I've thoroughly enjoyed your videos and wider campaigning for cycle safety for years. The videos were funny, slick and with a point. Twitter has got a lot worse though, so all good things must come to an end. Enjoy your "retirement".

Small announcement. I’m stopping my cycling videos. The trolling just got too bad. They have had well over 100 million views but in the end the anger they generate has genuinely upset me.

A 360 camera uses two lenses which are both very wide (because they each cover 180degrees). A wide lens favours close things over distant ones. Therefore as you move forwards at a constant speed, or even as you slow down, you appear to be accelerating. Thus I am afraid I can no longer respond individually to people who say “BUT YOU SPeD UP aS YoU APPRoAChED HIM YOU abSOLUTe C*****”

My husband and I recently went to Krakow. However we didn't visit Auschwitz as we were on holiday and apparently it's a long day there. However we tell everyone we did as it's bizarrely expected that you go.

@theJeremyVine @silvercab49 Yes but way too late. Your lack of awareness of other road users is staggering. They do stupid things all the time . You are going to get hurt one day when your luck runs out.

@theJeremyVine Didn’t even have to see the sign to know that was a “not in service” bus. Crazy how differently (badly!) NIS buses seem to be driven.

@DanNeidle @cmackinlay @ICAEW @CIOTNews @UKLabour Dan, any reason why conditional exemption could not have been an option (like is it with historic houses open to the public)? This way for as long as the next generation continue to farm no IHT, but if they sell up and cash in at any point then they pay full IHT. Seems fairer?

As an @ICAEW & @CIOTNews member, just considering full reality to #farming families of @UKLabour #APR #IHT proposals. Example: company farm, historic (very low land base cost), 150 acres at £10k per acre (smaller than most), equipment. Little in the bank. Elderly owner, similarly little in 'cash'. Other IHT reliefs used up. Co Value £2m. Tax on death: £200,000. Payable 6m after death in cash, else interest applies. The big question is where to find this sum? A 10yr instalment option exists: interest applies. Answer: Executors will need to sell land. But how many acres? 20 acres at £10k per acre? Very wrong! 1. Company needs to sell land to raise cash. 2. Company pays Corp tax on the gain at 25%. 3. Net cash has to be extracted to the beneficiaries; tax as dividend likely at 33.75% & some at 39.35%. If extracted as PAYE, 40% plus ER NIC (now higher) and EE NIC, but Corp Tax deductible. By my reckoning, nearer 40 acres at £10k needs to be sold (plus fees?) to get the cash to pay the IHT - 27% of the farmland. #Devastating @NoFarmsNoFoods @Conservatives @DailyMailUK @Telegraph @DanNeidle, do you broadly concur?

@avochie @RoryStewartUK @GeordieKakamora Another possibility is “file-drawering”. Ie Got an outlier poll? Just stick it in a drawer and don’t publish it! Only the conventional wisdom polls get published and voila, herding! This also happens to an extent in science/medical research - lack publishing of “weird” results

Kamala Harris will win comfortably, because: • Biden’s admin has been solid • Trump’s lost ground since 2016 • The young Black male votes which Trump needs didn’t turn out in 16, 18, 20, or 22 • Young women like Kamala + vote ✴️Ignore polls—they’re herding, after past misses

@AndrewBrophy3 @RoryStewartUK Mostly conscious. But if a polling company decides to up-weight, say, young black men is that because they “really believe” that that group will turn out more this time, or is a desire to find a more few more Trump votes for your poll so you’re not an outlier? Could even be both

Journalists would like the US race to seem as close as possible - it suits their appetite for suspense and @afneil ‘s desire to prod the establishment. But this won’t be a close race decided by a “couple of thousand votes”. He is wrong. And Kamala Harris will win.
The Sun@TheSun

"This election started as a dead heat and it's got even closer. You're talking about a couple of thousand votes," says @afneil to @MrHarryCole Watch #NeverMindTheBallots, in association with @BetfairExchange: youtu.be/0IrOdNUbdWo?si…

@AndrewBrophy3 @RoryStewartUK The herding is definitely there. Statistically you’d expect more variation in polls even if the “real” race was a static dead heat, due to unavoidable sampling error. Nate Silver (“who we interviewed on Leading” 😅) has done precise stats on this.

@RoryStewartUK @afneil Have you put the £100k down, Rory? There is sufficient liquidity on Betfair and Harris is only at 45%. That’s free money according to your conviction…

@lrcaswell @jim_dickinson That, on average, students are getting a lot of help from their parents, wherever they are. Some students won’t be able to get help from their parents. These are ones that need to work during the degree, even if others don’t.
