@itsEasonn @Enderbite @TactFNC Bingo! A lot of times without knowing the concepts yourself it's harder to get expected results. Learning for me has become exponentially faster, conceptually I've picked up so much knowledge that would be a pain in the past to read through documentation on.

For sure, this is understandable, especially with people trying to do things quick and rush to succeed. For me personally I’ve already had years of background experience programming, AI has helped me speed up my process. While I understand things I can prompt it using those things I understand to get the same outcome as if I typed everything. I’m not gonna lie most of the stuff in code repeats or is just useless symbols that waste time to type. I still end up understanding the logic of the code and I’m able to fix it after it’s created most of it for me. If I’m having issues or don’t understand something or why the ai wrote something that way, it’s easy to ask it for a definition that can suit my needs (some people need complex explanations some people don’t) People who have never understood code or concepts can ask AI so easily nowadays that it’s beneficial to learning as well. All they need is to have an idea in mind. In the end it’s the idea that matters not how it was executed. Big businesses don’t succeed because their employees are top tier, they succeed because those employees had good ideas that led to success. (Quality of AI work still matters but if we try to move backwards it won’t move forward.)

This emerging industry is doing what software companies are supposed to do: compete and improve products rapidly. My view is, we should treat this as normal human progress and avoid moral, regulatory, and geopolitical panics over AI.

@TimSweeneyEpic Python, Java, Verse now C++ for me. Claude is the next step for sure.

I wrote 6502 machine language and drew pixels art on an Apple II, then assembly language, then Pascal on PC, then C, then C++, now Verse. AI is the next logical step in moving developers up the value chain, towards expressing intent, away from the artifacts of old tools.

This is the beginning of the end of the AI luddite movement and it’s long overdue. AI is a generational productivity tool for all fields, and companies whose decisions get co-opted by AI haters will become entirely unviable as competition whizzes by with better products.
