We're making Eid an official state holiday in California! Assemblymember @MattHaneySF today announced AB 2017, a bill in the CA state legislature that will officially designate Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha as state holidays. For the hundreds of thousands of Californians, and the nearly thousand Muslims in the Tenderloin where I represent, this is an important moment. A moment where our culture, religion, and values will be represented in ink. Because our Muslim families, workers, children deserve to be recognized just like everyone else. Next week, I will be introducing a resolution in support of AB 2017 at the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to formally endorse the proposal.

Seems kind of suspicious to me. Why not sign your own name and you can hear people doing it actually twice

Despite San Francisco facing close to a billion dollar deficit over the next two years, Supervisor @JackieFielder_ is proposing an increase in gross receipts tax towards Category 6 businesses which consist mostly of Financial Services firms to fund things such as a public bank.

@max_dre_ @Twolfrecovery The public bank in North Dakota doesn't do what @JackieFielder_ wants to do. It basically supports other banks and can't compete with them. It's very pro-business and doesn't help individuals.

This is how it works in North Dakota (only state with a public bank) and it works: North Dakota has some of cheapest small biz loans in the country.
