I used to have a fixed rate credit card of about 6% before the Credit CARD Act of 2009. With that act, most, if not all, credit card offerings removed fixed rate cards and replaced them with much, much higher variable rate credit cards. Try to find a credit card with a rate lower than 16-23%, no matter how terrific your credit score. Government destroys everything it touches.
