Excited to share our work on chromatin landscape remodeling in cloned embryos! 🐄🐄We started off w/ simple question: how does the somatic epigenome reprogram to prepare for the onset of transcription (EGA)? tinyurl.com/yc4wv76p

I had a chance to read your annual report. Thanks for sharing your Google scholar cite count compared to everyone else in your department. Oddly, removing self citations you don’t do quite as well. But at least now I understand why your chair rated you low for collegiality.

A short write-up about the journey of our lab. Starting as T cell immunologists, we stumbled across Wnt signaling in flies and frogs. Worked on colon cancer. Then Nick Barker (left) discovered the gut stem cell and Toshi Sato invented organoids authors.elsevier.com/a/1n3No6tu0CxX…

RFK Jr. has called the HPV vaccine “the most dangerous vaccine ever invented.” A staggering new review covering 274 studies found the opposite (again). HPV vaccines, without a doubt, remain one of the greatest cancer prevention tools in modern medicine.

Out today in @ScienceMagazine: with the amazing Haochuan Cui, Yiling Lin, & @LingfeiWu, we analyzed 3.6 million scientists publishing 1960–2020. The findings reshape a century-old debate about age and scientific creativity.

Update for those interest. No change in assessment: this is a logistically complex outbreak, but not likely to expand although some additional cases may be identified. who.int/emergencies/di… Also initial virus sequences confirm its close relatedness with Andes.

Every cancer drug you prescribe today was once an NIH grant nobody noticed. Pharma celebrates launches. Few notice the 20–40 year runway behind that. Gleevec took 41 years from NIH-funded discovery of the Philadelphia chromosome → FDA approval. Behind every “breakthrough” sits a graveyard of failed attempts that made it possible. Cut that lineage today, the next Gleevec doesn’t arrive in 2067. Funded science matters. If someone says NIH funded science is inefficient, show them this. - - - - - Source: NIH RePORTER · FDA · via @Jori_health - - - - -
