Every parent in America should be furious right now. District 300, based in Algonquin, Illinois, secretly transitioned a high school boy for years without telling his mother, even as he was hospitalized for suicidal ideation. They ignored her objections and pushed the full gender plan anyway. Now she is suing the district and Illinois’ entire gender guidance system in Chicago federal court as the DOJ investigates 36 Illinois school districts for the exact same parental exclusion. When did public schools decide they could secretly replace moms and dads?

Where is Kwame Raoul? Yet another instance of him being AWOL for the taxpayers. One aspect of the most corrupt property tax system in America is Cook County seizing homes from mostly Black and Brown residents over "property tax debt of less than $1,600" and transferring them to "wealthy investors." From the story: "Illinois is the only state not in compliance" with a Supreme Court ruling that makes this corrupt practice illegal. If only there were someone with legal authority in Illinois who could fight for the people, not the money grabbers. Fortunately, there is. When I become the Illinois Attorney General, we will uncover how "wealthy investors," property tax lawyers, and politicians continue to profit from the Cook County property tax system. Someone has to fight for you. That someone is me. chicago.suntimes.com/money/2026/05/…

Seems notable that the single largest lever in Mayor Mamdani’s proposal to close New York City’s budget deficit is not a new tax on the rich or new state funding. It is simply lowering the city’s contributions to its pension funds (saving $2.3 billion). And that move was made possible due to higher-than-expected investment returns over the last several years. Capitalism was the mayor’s saving grace.

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani@NYCMayor

When we came into office, we uncovered a $12 billion budget deficit. Today, I’m proud to say we brought it down to zero. We didn’t close the gap on the backs of working people. We closed it while funding parks, libraries, safer streets and making historic investments in public housing. Call it Pothole Politics. Call it Democratic Socialism. It's government that delivers for the people who make this city run. That’s what New Yorkers deserve. And that’s what we will keep fighting for every single day.

After 176 years in Illinois, Morton Salt has completed its headquarters relocation to Overland Park, Kansas. The move, first announced in 2024, was finalized in early May 2026. Driven by high taxes and a hostile business climate under @JBPritzker and @ChicagosMayor, the company shifted roughly 350 corporate positions. According to a contact, Morton Salt continues to operate a small deicing-focused office with about 20 employees at 1 North Franklin Street in the Loop. Chicago just lost another iconic employer. How many more will flee before Pritzker and Johnson wake up?

The developers getting a $40 million Chicago subsidy to turn part of a Loop office building into apartments are now seeking a $50 million loan from taxpayers to convert the rest of it into a new 308-room W hotel. Former BMO Harris Bank building at 111 W. Monroe St Chicago, Illinois. Prime Group and Capri Investment Group have planned a $166.5 million transformation of the property. City planning officials deem such sweeteners worth it to help reestablish regular foot traffic and rebuild the tax base of the central business district. -Crain's #commercialrealestate

Why are gas prices so much higher in Illinois? Note: This doesn’t include local excise and sales taxes, which make the problem worse.

2 N. LaSalle Chicago, Illinois is up for sale. Sold for $152.7 million to Harbor Group in 2007. Fortress and Hearn later took a controlling stake in the tower by providing Harbor Group with a $42 million investment. Fortress and Hearn gave up the property via a deed in lieu of foreclosure in 2024 with $137.8 million outstanding on a CMBS loan. 713,000 Square Feet "Only half-full" -TheRealDeal #commercialrealestate

Sheridan Gorman had her whole life ahead of her at Loyola. ICE begged JB Pritzker not to release her accused killer, but he chose sanctuary laws over citizen safety. He said he’d "rather be arrested" than enforce the law. We need a Governor who puts our families first.

Locking up violent offenders instead of slapping an ankle monitor on them might hurt some feelings. Getting shot, carjacked, or beaten hurts a lot worse. Put the bad guys in jail.

@EricLDaugh 2,450 defendants on ankle monitors. 590 charged with violent crimes. 210 charged with aggravated weapons offenses. 85 felons caught with guns. 21 MURDER defendants. And 8% are just… gone. AWOL. Nobody knows where they are. THIS is Pritzker’s justice system.

A Chicago Walgreens lost $1 MILLION at one store. Had to spend $400K on security. Employees threatened. Shelves wiped out. Now the store is forced to close. But sure… let’s keep pretending shoplifting is “no big deal.” This is the real-life result of @JulianaStratton's “Illinois Blueprint.” Businesses close. Prices go up. Communities lose pharmacies, grocery stores, and jobs while politicians make excuses for repeat offenders. Working families pay the price for elite activist experiments every single time. dontracyforil.com/press-releases…

🚨 HOLY CRAP!! Cook County, Illinois Democrats ran a pre-trial program for murders and sexual assaulters so they WOULDN'T BE IN JAIL awaiting trial... ...and 8% OF THEM JUST WENT MISSING! Untraceable. 243 criminals — including murderers, attempted murderers, and sexual assaulters, AWOL. "They have NO idea where they're at. NONE. ZERO." They were supposed to be on ankle monitors. But they're now LOST. Now a wild GOOSE CHASE is underway! So there are roughly 243 DANGEROUS and VIOLENT criminals on the loose right now. Enjoy, Illinois. You voted for this. This was the same program ignored by a known career criminal with 72 arrests. He violated curfew, boarded a Chicago train, and set a stranger ON FIRE.

Chicago business activity is officially shrinking again. After a brief three-month expansion, the Chicago Business Barometer fell to 49.2 in April, tumbling back into contraction territory. Why is Chicago's economy stalling out? Well, for one, look at the sheer tax burden placed on local job creators: >Corporate property taxes are the highest among large U.S. cities and more than double the average. >Political leaders recently hiked the tax on cloud-based computer services to a staggering 15%. >The city increased hotel taxes to 19%, the highest in the entire nation, threatening the tourism industry. This hostile tax environment has real, tangible consequences for workers. While government hiring expanded (because of course it did), Chicago’s private sector bled 10,000 trade and transportation jobs, plus 8,100 manufacturing jobs over a single year. Chicago desperately needs pro-growth policies, fiscal stability, and a much simpler tax code. illinoispolicy.org/chicago-busine…

@JBPritzker JB Pritzker has been profiting off of a taxpayer built hotel and ballroom since 1998. Zero property taxes to schools, parks, police, fire since 1998. Not a single dollar. Over $600M in taxpayer money spent building and renovating the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place.
