More PBM-related casualties….we really should follow Arkansas’s lead and ban the ownership of pharmacies by PBM’s. Independent pharmacies are a lifeline in rural Texas, and they are worth defending.

The Rx ACCESS Act, which Senator Cotton has co-sponsored, would require pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) to reimburse pharmacies participating in the TRICARE program either the actual cost of a drug or the national average drug acquisition cost, thus shielding independent pharmacies from unfair reimbursement practices and empowering military members and their families to use the pharmacy they choose—not the one chosen for them by the PBMs. As an almost 30-year Army officer, my family and I have seen firsthand the anti-competitive ways PBMs manipulate the market and burden servicemembers. For far too long, PBMs have abused their power to the detriment of consumers and independent pharmacies to benefit themselves. Hey @TNGOP what’s going on here? The solution to healthcare problems isn't MORE government control, it's LESS! This goes AGAINST @realdonaldtrump Trump RX agenda! Remove barriers to entry, promote transparency, let businesses compete. Tennessee's SB2040 does the opposite: more bureaucracy, more mandates, more costs. Real conservatives should oppose this.

@pcmanet That data is based off of NCPDP numbers, which many pharmacies have more than 1 NCPDP to bill retail vs LTC. How many of those “pharmacies” are actually counted more than once?

We're glad to see @pcmanet thinks more independent pharmacies are good for patients. The problem is that there aren't more. There are fewer, thanks to the predatory behavior of its members. That's why Congress passed the first federal PBM reform in history last week, and that's why we're pushing for more.
