And they say there's no such thing as a free lunch

@JoshYoung @Hyundai The brand is cheap for a reason, they’ve had powertrain issues forever. Friend just had a new engine put in a Tucson 2.0t after it spun a bearing on the highway.
English

Bought a hybrid @Hyundai Tuscon. Huge mistake.
The hybrid battery died 3 years in.
It is technically under warranty, but they have so many cars with problems that they don't provide loaners (or rental car etc). And they're out of batteries so it's been weeks. 👎👎

@RazorOil I sold a bunch on euphoria today, we always get rugged when celebrating. Not that I feel super confident about that decision either.

@winincentive @Osinttechnical Boomers are the first off the landing craft.
English
@Osinttechnical Guess the Iranians aren't on Truth Social.
Or they are mad, desperate, and do not care what we care about. They think they are physically immune to ground invasion. FAFO.
English

@UNC121168 @BlisterPearl You guys just say and believe dumb shit without evidence huh?
English

@BlisterPearl I’m sure the Generals we have are making the war decisions. The economy was pretty damn good the first time and getting better the 2nd term

this reduces gasoline prices but i'm not sure this should have any impact on crude prices
*Walter Bloomberg@DeItaone
TRUMP ADMINISTRATION EXPECTED TO SOON LIFT SUMMER GASOLINE REGULATIONS TO CURB ENERGY PRICES - SOURCES
English

@DeepDishEnjoyer The export crude is too light for US refinery slate, wonder if they’d ban some product exports like diesel instead.
English

i may eat crow, but i doubt trump will implement an oil export ban unless the domestic situation turns absolutely abysmal. not only would oil companies and oil producing states' (that are mostly republican) tax bases suffer greatly, this would massively expand the trade deficit
Guy Berger@EconBerger
It seems inevitable that the admin is going to ban crude oil exports, right?
English

@Merridew__ It won’t help, the exports are light oil without refining demand in NA.
English

@DeepDishEnjoyer The boys at the treasury wanted to send you a warm happy birthday.
English

@GreyHairOpsGuy Your total number of marriages depends how many oil booms you live through.

Here’s what to expect:
1. The world will enter recession
2. You will get laid off
3. You will drain your retirement savings
4. You will fall into addiction
5. Your wife will divorce & take the kids
6. You will finally get a new job for less $
7. You will overcome addiction
8. You’ll remarry someone who ‘gets you’
9. Rinse, repeat

It feels strangely validating to watch the rest of the world get their faces ripped off for once, when historically it’s always just been us poor O&G folks. I don’t like it—I’ve been there—but I’m here to bear witness.
English

It’s actually insane how much people’s political views can skew their investment outlook. Remain objective.
When the war broke out, a smart but very biased friend with a confirmed case of TDS called me and said the economy was definitely going to crash, oil was going to $200, and we were screwed.
I didn’t need to do any more work. The reaction told me everything. Perception was about to deviate from reality.
That’s the opportunity. Do you see it?

@mattyglesias Every grade is compared to the major grades and there is a quality and transportation cost difference for each.
English

@jewyorkstofmind Couldn’t even bother to assist the Ukrainians because it’s better to play both sides.
English

@CopiumSmuggler You do know the US lobbied Israel to NOT join GWOT. Desert Storm especially.
English

President Trump does not have an affinity for Zelenskyy, and foreign policy is about interests, not personalities.
I saw Ukrainian drone teams heading to the Middle East as I departed Ukraine last week.
I want allies who step forward, not stand back.

@DeconinckCarl @JayinKyiv He was a diamond dealer with a fair bit of Russian entanglements.
English

@JayinKyiv What frequent trips to Moscow are you talking about?
English

What is the correlation of the personal wardrobe budget of European politicians to their level of groveling servitude to their Russian masters?
The Belgian Prime Minister always shows up in a minimum of €10,000 outfit, and with his frequent trips to Moscow and aiding Putin at every turn, it'd be good to see where @Bart_DeWever sits on the scale of shame.
Can we ask @dieworkwear ?

English

@RazorOil You would need to dredge Vancouver harbour to get a meaningful bump.
English

The more I read and learn about the 23.6 million barrels that Canada is contributing to support global oil demand (as part of the IEA's emergency release amid the Middle East disruptions), the less I understand where that specific number actually comes from. It truly seems like they just came up with a figure and are now trying to piece together a cohesive story around it, but nothing here makes any real sense. 🫣🪒
