I’ve always opposed EV mandates, rejected the idea that EVs will save the world, and preferred traditional engines for vehicles like the F-150 I used to drive.
That said, it’s clear that Teslas are absolutely top-notch products. It’s not hard to see how they’ve developed a dedicated following.

@RonDeSantis @elonmusk @iliketeslas 5 people in our family bought Model Y. We don’t care about electric cars, we wanted the FSD and we love it. I am spreading the gospel everywhere I can, but people still don’t believe it exists.

@reniermedia @its_The_Dr I guess it depends on what and where you teach, but yes it was the politics that finally broke me.

@Corbomite14 @its_The_Dr Taught for over 3 decades in 2 countries. It's actually a doddle. The politics is of hell, though.

No generation has done as much harm to the reputation of musicians as this one. I listen to music now with a much more jaundiced ear, knowing so many of these people are fucking morons.

@historyinmemes The book and the movie were intended to be companion pieces (except that they changed Saturn to Jupiter). Once you read the book you realise all the mysterious imagery precisely explained.

@Nate_Esparza Is it feasible to have a "History" tab that just tracks posts you've already been served, perhaps even just a day's worth?

I keep saying this but modern video games have become movies, they're not interactive anymore and there's hardly any challenge to win at all
This game is very symbolic of that because literally all you do is hold a button for hours 😂

I believe yesterday was when Democracy in the US finally, completely died. The executive branch has decided they can and will do anything, regardless of the law; the legislative branch has given up any pretense of doing anything at all, much less acting as a counter to the executive; and the judicial has been changed from an impartial body that acts as a check on both the legislative and executive branches into a politicized body that does their bidding instead.
The only possible solution was us: we voters could supposedly change things if we desired it enough (after Citizens United I think this was a pipe dream, however it was a dream). But after the recent Supreme and Virginia Court rulings, it's clear(er) that we citizens will not have that power going forward.
Now you might agree with the current administration's actions--that's up to you--but the net effect of all of this is that we no longer have a functioning republican democracy. If you are comfortable with living in an effective dictatorship, then you'd better also be comfortable with all the consequences that come from that decision. I, most certainly, am not... and I don't expect to be able to post anything like this within a few years, so I figured I'd better post it now.

Dean Clifford, a 44-year-old motivational speaker from Brisbane, posted a happy selfie with his mum Jenny at Suncorp Stadium during the Dolphins vs Storm NRL game.
What happened next was heartbreaking..
Strangers and even Meta AI viciously attacked him over his appearance, calling him a “zombie,” comparing him to horror characters, and worse. Some even said he “should be dead.”
What they didn’t know…Dean lives with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) a rare, agonising genetic skin condition often called “butterfly skin.” His skin is so fragile it blisters, tears and wounds from the slightest touch or friction.
Doctors gave him just 2 years to live at birth. He’s now 44 one of the oldest known survivors of a severe form of EB in the world.
