The claim that “Iran LIED about a 2,000km range limit” ignores that anyone following this issue understood the ambiguities inherent in that very loose political commitment. Iran could lighten payloads to achieve longer ranges. They were also working on SLV capabilities that could be applied to an ICBM (though reentry is a challenge). It’s not the revelation you think it is.

@CossieRob @BareLeft But they're not being regulated. Water Companies are repeatedly being allowed to increase bills to pay for infrastructure. And then not paying for it because they're using it to pay bonuses and fake debt. (Private Equity debt is just a tax thing for the Private Equity Company)

A third of your existing water bill goes to shareholder dividends and servicing bogus private equity "debt". Nationalisation would see your bills either stay the same or fall.

I appreciate what she has done on transportation, but Hidalgo has been bad on housing and Paris’ population has fallen on her watch — it’s a European style of degrowth urbanism that has some useful lessons but shouldn’t be emulated.
Hayden@the_transit_guy

A reminder that Mayor Anne Hidalgo will go down as one of the most consequential mayors of the modern time: a mayor who literally built 600 miles of bike lanes and made hundreds of streets car free in her 12 years as Paris mayor. Bravo.

Archer, a Ukrainian thermal imager company, had its facility in Czechia set on fire overnight. Czech media say a warehouse burned and the fire spread to an admin building. The Earthquake Faction claimed the attack, saying they thought they were hitting weapons production for Israel.

The Israelis need to stop this PR campaign to scare people into supporting the war. There is enough going on now (see Joe Kent media tour that has a huge following and is growing daily) where they’re in huge trouble re domestic US sentiment. Fear mongering about Iran hitting Europe with ballistic missiles that no intel agency anywhere will back up is going to be wildly counterproductive.
Phil Stewart@phildstewart

(Reuters) - British cabinet minister Steve Reed said on Sunday that there was no assessment that backed claims Iran is planning to strike Europe with ballistic missiles, or that it even has the capacity to do so. On Saturday, the Israel Defence Forces posted on social media that Iran has missiles "that can reach London, Paris or Berlin". "There is no assessment to substantiate what's being said," British Housing Secretary Reed told the BBC. "I'm not aware of any assessment at all that they are even trying to target Europe, let alone that they could if they tried."

Here’s the question nobody in Washington is asking about the Diego Garcia strike: how did Iran know exactly where to aim? They don’t have satellite coverage of the Indian Ocean. Someone gave them the targeting data. Who? And what does that make this war?

I’m tired boss, the U.S. is literally kicking the shit out of a nation with a modern military right now. Ukraine didn’t stop because “Westerns aren’t modern enough” they stopped sending them because Ukraine has a hybrid Soviet-DroneSlav way of war that isn’t compatible with NATO doctrine. NATO blasphemy needs to stop.
Roy🇨🇦@GrandpaRoy2

Ukraine will stop sending soldiers abroad for training and plans to conduct all military personnel training exclusively on Ukrainian territory. This decision is attributed to the fact that instructors from Western countries lack modern combat experience.

@ekwufinance Before US gets in trouble, China, Europe, Japan, Middle Eaat all fail. US is highly self sufficient in energy and the largest exporter of LNG. And if prices stay high US can easily produce 2 million barrels of oil per day

The US is in trouble. While it is true that the U.S. is the largest oil exporter and “only” imports ~3% of its oil through the Strait of Hormuz, the same can’t be said about its allies. - Europe: Highly dependent on oil/gas imports - Asia: Highly dependent on oil/gas/food imports These regions also hold the vast majority of US assets owned and account for most of the buying. The highly financialized and indebted US economy only functions when: 1) Allies buy US Treasuries to keep rates low 2) Allies buy US equities to keep markets and tax receipts up 3) Send cheap goods to the U.S. The current spike in energy and food prices is threatening the very foundation of the empire. As these highly import-dependent countries and regions face mounting costs and strain, they need to make a decision: 1) Print currency to buy energy and food 2) Sell US assets to buy energy and food Printing currency would ignite inflation, and in an already inflationary shock, selling US assets at near all-time highs would buy these countries time for things to normalize. The longer the Strait remains closed, the higher the incentive to sell US assets to relieve inflationary pressures.

@POLITICOEurope It's shocking that the EU leaders would side with the leader of a non-EU country that's sabotaging energy security of a European Union member. The European Union and NATO will collapse after the defeat of Ukraine.

Probably not since Margaret Thatcher was in office have EU leaders been so outraged with one of their peers as they were last week when Victor Orbán again blocked a critical €90 billion loan to fund Ukraine’s war effort. politico.eu/article/viktor…
