Glossing over the fact that the Bene Gesserit set up the entire religion on Dune to use as a weapon against future houses who go against them so they could gain power and was ultimately used to establish an empire for the Atredies, a foreign family, by killing tens of billions to take power for themselves. The Atredies weren’t the good guys in the books or even the movies, I don’t get why you’re portraying them like Lawrence of Arabia.

I can't get over the fact that Dune is about an oppressed people fighting for their homeland, waging a jihad to bring down a hegemonic empire by threatening to cut off the flow of their most precious commodity after the empire had assassinated their religious leader's father.

Today I$rael tried to kill me in a targeted airstrike in southern Lebanon as I was reporting on was the targeting of bridges and the forced displacement of 1 million people, an ethnic cleansing operation on a larger scale than the Nakba I have absolutely no doubt that this was deliberate. Despite claims there were no warnings ahead of the strike and no notifications sent to the Lebanese Army who allowed us to film As we have seen in Gaza they want to silence journalists who document and report their war crimes It is the western powers who provide political and military support for I$rael, arming it to the teeth to carry out genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing here in Lebanon. They are not simply complicit, but active participants and should be held accountable for their actions. But if I$rael thinks today’s strike will silence us and keep us out of the field they are very, very mistaken

@JettXFighter It’s the ugliest aircraft in our inventory that’s why it’s called the “Warthog” but more importantly, it relies on an outdated mental model of CAS that has gotten friendly troops killed. Nothing “bad ass” about that.

80% of CAS missions in Iraq and Afghanistan were conducted by aircraft other than the A-10. Every scenario you’ve stupidly said the A-10 would be suited for, the military isn’t even using it for *because flying low and slow is a bad thing, not a good thing* Also, the F-35 has greater endurance with the same payload than the A-10. An enormous factor to consider but you’ve never done CAS so it never occurred to you.

@bencroyderived But sure your experience doesn’t speak for everyone other A10 that’s been on station for over hour. A10 has way more munitions and it’s slower so it doesn’t have as high fuel consumption

@Itsjusttepid You retire the A-10 and invest the savings into maintaining other platforms that are better at the mission like F-16, F-15E/X, and F-35.

@bencroyderived Am I the only one who thinks the A10 need ms to be replaced by a new aircraft made to the same formula but with new manufacturing techniques and some slightly more modern technology. And possibly with a higher capacity?

Yes because it is a better platform in every sense, it has an actual sensor suite, greater endurance with the same payload, stealth so it could actually show up in a contested environment, and many more points. This argument doesn’t make sene and the A-10 will probably get shot down with all its loaded bombs and fuel greatly raising the cost in the end. People who know the least about CAS advocate for the A-10 because they’ve never had to put up with the annoyance of making a Hog work in their plan.

@bencroyderived The point is the F35 is a great plane but it costs significantly more to operate and maintain. So you can't replace the A10 with the F35 any more than you can replace a Honda Civic with a Ferrari.

@CheryMy The longest I’ve seen an A-10 on station was 15 minutes, the longest I’ve seen an F-35 was an hour and a half. This chauvinism on the A-10 is only possessed by people who’ve never done CAS or “has-been” A-10 pilots.

@bencroyderived A10 WAY longer loitering times, cheaper to operate, holds more munitions next. F35 is a multi role. It’s never going to do the mission as good as the A10.

It’s going to sustainment and replacing munitions used in Epic Fury and anyone suggesting otherwise is either naive or just hoping on a wish and a prayer. Trump’s pentagon has neglected a number of these priorities, no one should expect that to change until they release details on the supplemental.

Some things I would spend $200B on. -Opening a second B-21 production line. $4.5B -Plan a second F-47 line $4.5B -Restart C-17 production. $8B -Buy 48 US-2s from Japan. $7.5B -Max the lines of F-35, F-15EX and F-16V, all to the USAF. $28B -Grow the Army to 680,000. $42B

The F-35 program was billed as the most advanced stealth fighter ever. It cost us $2 trillion over 20 years. And it gets clipped by a missile belonging to a military that I have been told repeatedly by the Pentagon was totally defeated. LOL. Hope the pilots are OK, tho!

An F-35A/B Lightning ll made an emergency landing at a U.S. air base in the Middle East this week, after it was struck by what is believed to be Iranian surface-to-air fire, according to two sources familiar with the matter who spoke to CNN. Capt. Tim Hawkins, a Spokesman for U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), said the fifth-generation stealth jet was “flying a combat mission over Iran” when it was forced to make an emergency landing at a base in the Middle East. “The aircraft landed safely, and the pilot is in stable condition,” Hawkins added. “This incident is under investigation.”
